Great value....
I stayed here for one night over the bank holiday with my partner as we only wanted a cheap night away at the coast. After reading the mixed reviews we decided to give it a try and we must say we were very pleasantly surprised!We had a nice room overlooking the harbour so had great views. The room itself was spacious and functional and the bathroom was very good too. We couldn't fault the room or bathroom, both of which were basic but clean which is the main thing in our eyes!Breakfast was fine, a basic buffet style but did the trick.If you are looking for a cheap budget break away then this is ideal, whilst it's not 4 star it is a very good 3 star and worth the money!We will be back!

Third time unlucky!
We booked this trip in February and it was confirmed that we had a premier room with balcony and close to the lifts.When we arrived, there was no record of our booking.Apparently their system was changed after we made the booking and it was cancelled although they took the money.Thankfully, we had the reservation number but it still took 1/2 hour to find us a room.It wasn't a balcony room and nowhere near the lift.It was a major struggle for my husband as he has to use crutches.Reception staff didn't seem too bothered about the situation but after 6 hours of travel,my patience was wearing a bit thin!Breakfasts are really good but the evening buffet could do with looking at.There are a lot of dishes that cannot be kept hot(the battered fish being an example)It took brute force to remove it from the hotplate and then I couldn't get the knife and fork into it!!!Not that much choice for veggies either,feta tart or salad can get a bit boring .The room itself was OK even though we didn't get the balcony.This was our 3rd visit here and the hotel really needs refurbishment, particularly the lounge bar.It looks quite sad and neglected.

the truth
an obviuos high turnover hotel, rooms are dated and well used, the general facilities a tad tatty. The resturant is a help yourself type with a lac-luster menu with very little taste difference. There are the odd nice pleasant members off staff but very rare.

Needs updating
Rooms are on the whole ok, spacious and clean. However I asked for a non smoking room and was given a smoking room and the hotel would not consider changing even though it wasn't that busy. The public areas need upgrading are tired and seemingly stuck in the 70's with decor and entertainment. The food is basic and pretty awful. I paid half board, received a buffet for breakfast while there was plenty to choose from it was probably the cheapest food available and not very tasty. The dinner again gave plenty of choice in the buffet but the quality was extremely poor.They also advertise free wifi which was one of the reasons i chose the hotel as I need to be connected for work at all times. Even in public areas the connection was poor and continually drops out. How hard is ot to provide a good wi fi connection these days?
