2nd Stay - More disappointing this time
I stayed at this Novotel for 2 nights on business during May, having previously stayed for 1 night approximately 16 months ago for leisure. The area that the hotel is in is still very much under construction but there is now a huge retail park including a Krispy Kreme and KFC right opposite the hotel, and Edinburgh Park railway station is a 2 minute walk away.This time I was more disappointed, as the room I was given wasn't the cleanest, and the carpet outside the bathroom was soaking wet through, but I only discovered it after unpacking all my belongings and I really didn't want to move. Also my key had to be replaced 3 times during the stay as it kept deactivating somehow?! The food (I had breakfast, 2 lunches, and 2 dinners) was excellent for the price and the staff were very helpful overall, but reception was often short staffed and meant long waits at times.I would stay again for business, as it is very near one of my company's locations, but I would hesitate to book personally unless the price was unbeatable.

Great Value
The hotel is located in an isolated business environment with just a KFC for company, although the adjacent Edinburgh Park train station does get you into the city in about 10 mins.¿¿I arrived late and grabbed some food in the 24 hour bar, before retiring. Typical Novotel styling with: comfortable bed, TV with internet package, coffee making, mini bar, safe, smallish wardrobe and electronic shower. You set the temperature and water pressure on an electronic key pad, novel and worked great if not a little confusing at first.¿¿Great pool facilities and ample free secure parking.¿¿Unfortunately WiFi was chargeable and breakfast a little expensive, but with nothing around the area a Hobson's choice.¿¿GPS postcode location doesn't work well.¿¿For the rate paid it is a great alternative to a city centre hotel, if you don't mind the short train journey, so I would certainly return.¿¿

weekend away
everything you would expect, no complaints! Decent choice at breakfast each morning (although no square sausage or black pudding in a Scottish hotel haha?) Suana and the pool were both used and enjoyed. Rooms were clean and tidy. Train stop 2 minute walk from hotel was ideal for trips to the city centre at only ¿¿3 returns. Also right beside crispy cremes doughnut shop which is worth a taste!

Lovely hotel close to Edinburgh
What a super location this hotel is - only 100 yards from the Edinburgh park railway station where the trains to the centre are very regular. The hotel itself was lovely, new and modern. The rooms very spacious and clean. Breakfast wasn't the best we'd had but when we combined a B&B deal on the internet, it worked out only an extra couple of pounds each so very reasonable. Also the pool, whilst lovely to look at, was a little cold. We had a 15 month old toddler with us and there was no way I would have taken him into it besides there was no baby section to the pool. The jacuzzi is in the same pool, so it's not any warmer. On the plus side, there is a steam room which is great.The hotel has a child's menu for all day eating and also a microwave for parents to warm up bottles, food etc for the little ones. Great idea!

Birthday Weekend
This is a lovely hotel just outside Edinburgh. It may not be the ideal location for everyone but it is a stones throw away from Edinburgh Park Train Station where you can get a train into town in about 7 minutes. The hotel also offers fee parking. The rooms are big,clean and airy with a lovely bug bed and nice bathroom with a great shower. The hotel also has a lovely indoor heated swimming pool which has a small jaquzzi. The only grumbles we had about this hotel are- you have to pay ¿¿9.99 for the wifi code and that only lasts you 24 hours!!, we purchased the special deal through our tvs which gets you unlimited internet through your tv and unlimited music and movies. The internet is supposed to be accessable on your tv with use of a keyboard that is in your room, ours didnt work and when my bf went down to complain the girl didn't have a clue what he was talking about. We eventually got a new keyboard and this didn't work either! we ended up going on the internet through our phones.The hotel also offers breakfast but I think ¿¿16 for a fry up is outrageous and we were not willing to pay this!all in all we had a lovely break
