One night stay
My wife and I booked in to avoid going home after a chartiy fund raising do for Kidkare International. The room was comfortable, one quibble is that there was no Aljazeera on the television. Good choice for breakfast even at 10a.m. but we had to chase cereal bowls. Having paid ¿¿150 for a room having to pay extra for parking seems a bit steep.

Convenient Business Hotel
Excellent choice for business in the Gatwick access area. One stop on train from Gatwick to a two block walk from the station to hotel. (Total of 15 minutes). Very reasonably priced for London area. Unlike most Choice Hotels, no free breakfast but free internet which worked well. Nice bar.Arrived on early flight and got to hotel at 10 AM. Reception indicated room could be ready in an hour. Got room at 12:30 which was before the 3 PM regular check-in.Breakfast available for about $15 US.

Good south london location
Rooms were a little tired for a four star hotel. But apart from that the location is excellent, a 4 minute stroll to East Croydon train station (with express to Gatwick and Victoria tube). A good gym facility. A really good English breakfast, and I mean excellent! Great pub attached to the hotel with an excellent quick dinner menu.

What a dump
We had stayed before. The chap on reception asked asked for our address. I told him that we had one of their loyalty cards and he found our address. We were then pointed towards our room. Hardly 4 star treatment.We got to our room and it was certainly not even 2 star. It was a very badly converted conference room. Bed shoved against a wall, no bedside tables. The bedrooms dressing table was a cheap office desk, with tea and coffee making facilities in the lockable drawers. No mirrors on the wall.The room was also filthy. Kids sweets on the floor by the sofa. We moved the sofa and there were even more sweets. The chair at the desk was also filthy.The only redeeming feature was a decent shower. Although the bathroom had no form of heating and was freezing.We planned to entertain in the hotel but changed our minds.I would suggest the AA Inspector should ask to see room 008.

Ideal base for 8 night stay
Stayed 8 nights 31st March - 7th April with my teenage son.Buffet breakfasts and dinners ideal choice for varied and nutritious meals supplemented by bar snacks and local restaurants. Free gym and pool use ideal. Friendly and accommodating front of house and restaurant staff. Made to feel very welcome and will be returning for another week in August with another son so hope to be made welcome again.
