Stayed overnight here after getting the train up from Germany to Schipol for a flight the next day. Shuttle service was free both ways and very efficient with a friendly driver. Check in was a bit slow but this can be expected when a shuttle bus of around 20 people arrives. Once I got the the front of the queue however it was faster although I felt the receptionist didn't provide me with as many details as I would have liked and I kept having to ask her about breakfast/wifi/ etc.The room (008) was very clean and modern with a nice view of the lake outside. The bathroom was clean with toiletteries and there was tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Wifi was very good also.I decided to head to the bar for a beer and a bite to eat. The bar and restaurant are next to each other but I chose to sit at the bar to eat. The menu had quite a good choice on it. It took me a while to get served by one of the 7 or 8 barmen working there which I found a bit annoying but once I was served the first time, the service was good thereafter. The food and beer were also very good.After a peaceful nights sleep, I had breakfast of which there was a very good choice.Check out was no problem and I waited for the shuttle bus back to Schipol which again ran without a hitch. I would definately stay here again if the price was right.

We are regular Amsterdam visitors and made a special trip this month because of the abdication of the monarch and associated celebrations .We also wanted to visit Keukenhof Gardens.The reason we stayed here was because of the greed of hoteliers in Central Amsterdam who had vastly increased their prices because it was a special year.With regard to people who moan about the location.We found it to be fine as there was a free airport shuttle every 30mins and from there we could be in Amsterdam centre by train in 15mins for 7euros return.Also it is possible to use the tram which is 10 mins walk from hotel and this takes you to the centre also for under 3 euros one way.My tip would be to ensure breakfast is included with your booking as there are no eating places in walking distance.However you could still go to the airport to eat as there is a large shopping mall with plenty of food choices if you wanted.We have stayed many times at the other.Park Plaza hotels in the centre and found that this one had the edge when it came to quality.e.g the breakfasts were better and also the waiting staff and reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful.We used the courtesy bus every day but found that one of the drivers was miserable,unhelpful and positively rude to some of the passengers and to other members of staff.There was no greeting,smile or chat from him and he never once helped with luggage.After all this is sometimes the first person a guest comes into contact with and it doesn't create a positive impression.This is one of the reasons that I haven't marked the hotel as excellent.The rooms are modern ,very clean and functional but in our room the tea and coffee had not been replenished and we had to phone for some.We asked for English tea and they said only fruit tea was available however there seemed to be plenty at breakfast so this is a bit of a mystery!!The lighting could have been better in the room and the wifi only worked downstairs..bedding and towels changed each day but the quality of the duvet was poor and it needed a sheet to be comfortable as with all polyester.No proper pillows either.just small cushion sized ones which must be a peculiarity of this hotel.Summing up the value for money was very good and I would stay there again if I couldn't get a hotel reasonably priced in the city.However I think it caters more for the business market and people staying for 1 night because of it's proximity to the airport.

Park Plaza is a standard hotel near Schiphol, very friendly staff.Rooms are nice and clean, price was one of the cheapest near SchipholThe hotel has a free shuttle service.Would definitly go again en recommend it to my friends.

The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and staff was courteous. Quick note about the beds... two double beds are essentially together as one, due to somewhat small rooms (compared to typical U.S. hotels). More importantly, and to our surprise, the free shuttle bus offered to and from the airport was very helpful. They run twice every hour, from morning to midnight, and it allowed us to get to the trains at the airport which go into the city, eliminating the cost of taxi rides. Shuttles were very punctual the six times we used the service. It's recommended to reserve a spot with the front desk, in case there is a large group boarding one of the trips.

Overall: you get what you pay for. Positives: Room very clean, comfortable, in impeccable decorative order. Breakfast good quality, and bed and breakfast package a good deal if you are sharing a room. Massage arranged for my wife was of good standard. Brought up baby bed immediately, and extra non fruit teas when asked. The negatives: getting confirmation of reservation was poor - reception staff did not email back as promised. Room service order taker could not speak good english. Mini bar in room, but no glasses to drink out of. Kettle in room to make tea or coffee but nowhere in cupboard to plug it into. Only two very small trash cans in bathroom and toilet, nowhere in main room (e.g. Under good size desk) to put waste paper or baggage tags from luggage. Room service pizza was overcooked, almost burnt. Chicken on Caesar salad was only just cooked, almost raw in middle. Vegetarian room service pasta was very bland. Access to Executive lounge as part of upgrade was basically worthless: some warm fruit juice, and coffee making equipment that was cleared away by 7pm at night: completely lower standard of service than from Carlson hotels experienced Stateside.
