Very nice surroundings. Ample security cameras covering parking areas. Staff very pleasant. Food below par for the price charged. Holiday Inn rooms are clean as one would expect. Site should have had a tree survey done as there is a dangerous leaning tree in car park .

Holiday Inn Washington
I read some of the reviews before I went and I wasn`t impressed ...after staying there I can only assume that the reviewers were used to staying in ¿¿1000 a night 5 star hotels ... It is what it says a short stay motel ....The outside architecture didn`t bother me , all I wanted was a clean , friendly welcoming place to have a meal and lay my head and it was all of those things ...The reception was large and roomy with a lovely helpful girl on the desk ...there are lifts to all floors all working...the rooms were large and clean with all the facilities ...the evening meal ( 3 course ) was very nice and the breakfast was all you can eat self service ...the staff ,all of them were very friendly and helpful...if you fancied a walk there was a premier Inn 5 minutes away and a resturant and a bar..the bar was for the younger set , not my kind of music...so all in all a very enjoyable experience

Looks like a block of council flats
The hotel looks like it was high rise council flats before. It is cleanish, butdoes need renovation. The staff wad quite nice and location is good. There is a building site next to it at the moment however. Would not choose again though

The hotel 1970 left behind
First impressions arriving at the hotel were reasonable. It has a large, free car park which is a good start. The accommodation building from the outside looks like a 1970s government housing project.Check in was smooth and was welcomed as a PC member.The room was a reasonable size, with a very comfortable bed, though poor pillows. The furniture in the room was very tired and dated. The TV was a good size with a good choice of channels.The bathroom was on the small side and again very dated. The shower had good water pressure. There was a poor selection of amenities, though that is standard for a Holiday Inn.When I went to draw the curtains, I found an old sock on the floor which had obviously been left by the last guestThe restaurant was soulless and the menu was limited as numerous items were not available. The dinner selection was quite expensive and my bill also had a 10% service charge added which I object to.There was no health club or leisure facility at the hotel, which was disappointing for the price.Would I stay here again? If I was working nearby and the price was right. Would I stay on a leisure break - NO!

Good service is everything
On approach to the hotel you'd think you were about to embark on stay at a drab 1970's motel but once inside you'll be surprised. Located just off the A1 the hotel is perfect for travellers breaking their journey. The hotel is set in lovely grounds but the building itself is dated from the exterior. The inside has clearly had a recent refurb and is of a very good standard in public areas and the bedrooms too. The front of house staff were all more than welcoming and went out of their way to help us. We were allocated a twin room in error and when we called reception the hotel general manage can himself to take us to our new room. He offered his sincere apology for the error and made sure everything else was perfect before he left. This personal touch made all the difference.In the morning the breakfast was very nice and again the staff very pleasant. The check out process was very quick and hassle free. I would almost definitely stay here again.
