One night stay
Quick check in at reception rooms clean and tidy . Good nights sleep from a comfortable bed.Buffet breakfast was excellent quality. All staff very welcoming even the duty manager went out of his way to enquire if everything was ok . Well done guys will be back. Only 4 stars due to wifi not being free to guests

Good business venue
I held a meeting here for 22 people and the room size was excellent, the staff were excellent and the location is great.The reception team were very friendly as we're the conference team. The was ok, but not a lot of variation.

Friendly staff, hotel a little tired
The location of the hotel is good as a stop- over or meeting point being just off the motorway junction, where there are also Premier Inn and Holiday Inn Express to choose from. It seems also popular with continental coach tours and company conferences as well. The facilities at the hotel are ate standard for the chain, including a fitness centre (closes at 9:30pm, so no use if you're a late evening arrival). Being out of town, you are fairly limited to the hotel bar and restaurant, or the Harvester about 200m away - although the latter practically closes at 10pm. So if you're looking to have a walk around Taunton, or want a variety of places to visit, you would need to drive. The internal finishes of the public areas and rooms are getting a little tired, and not up to the typical Holiday Inn standard. The layout is quite simple, and bar/ restaurant area functional and a bit boring.The staff I met were all very friendly, most being from the area. The price of the room was reasonable, booking ahead on a travel website, and with Priority Club I was upgraded to an executive room. Although within sight of the motorway, the traffic noise didn't intrude, although room to room noise was more obvious. WiFi is not free, which is not great. Even at Premier Inn you get a short free period, useful to just catch up on emails etc. Overall, there really isn't anything wrong with the hotel, but I wouldn't race to return, and I would probably be tempted to try somewhere in town or in one of the surrounding villages next time.

Good hotel, friendly staff
Stayed here for 1 night over the Bank holiday. The hotel was smaller than expected, however the check inn was smooth and the staff very efficient and friendly. Room was small when the sofa bed was pulled out. Room clean though and liked the little freebies left for being a priority member. Breakfast was very good and good price for the 4 of us as kids ate free. Pool was lovely and warm and quiet too. Had a good sleep, room very quiet, pillows were a bit soft and flat though. Overall a good hotel although I think it could do with a bit of a face lift now.

Standard Holiday Inn experience
I've stayed here a few times and have never had anything bad to say about it. Although it is next to a motorway junction, I never heard a sound (and I'm a light sleeper).Breakfast is standard Buffet but all items were of good quality. I would come back again.
