Weekend visit to family
Mum and I recently booked two rooms and stayed here for two nights as it is only 1/2 mile from my brother's house so is very convenient. This was the first time my mum had been on her own since the recent death of my father so we asked for a different room to the one that was normally reserved for them when they stayed over in the past. The rooms were spotlessly clean, warm and there was plenty of hot water available. Breakfast was self service at the weekend but was hot and there was plenty of choice available. There had been two Prom Nights and a Wedding on the Friday evening, but we were booked into the quieter rooms away from the parties and had been given a letter apologising for any disturbance there may be - fortunately all the music had stopped by about 11:30 so this was fine.The Reception staff were their usual very efficient and friendly selves and have promised to keep an eye on mum when she stays alone in future. Andrea, in particular, is really helpful and is sorting out the transfer of dad's Priority Club points over to mum for us.

Lovely location ...
We recently stayed here on the 11th May and had a lovely room/Executive suite. It was comfortable and had views reaching out over the countryside. Overall the Hotel was tired and carpet fraying. We had water stains and damp in the corner of our room and our sink was cracked from side-to-side. But it¿¿¿s what I expect for the price.We had a nice breakfast but found the restaurant manager quite loud and direct. He shouted at me when I sat at the "wrong" table and the whole restaurant turned to look! it was quite embarrassing. I had sat at a table dressed for dinner not breakfast. However, it was not clear when we entered the restaurant and no one was present to seat or guide us. So that was a shame. I felt told off like a child!Other than that, a pleasant stay at a good rate.

excellent hotel
I have recently had a private birthday/dinner party for 11 people at the hotel and It could not be more pleased with how it went. The event booking was easy with the event co-ordinator doing everything she could to make sure it was to our satisfaction. The room was beautifully laid out and the staff were so attentive. They have a brilliant chef here and the food was top class and in abundance. There was far more than we could eat. The staff in the rest of the hotel were very friendly and helpful and the rooms are very comfortable, with everything you need. The hotel is set in a lovely rural location with excellent parking and close to a very large excellent garden centre to browse and also close to other attractions. This hotel is well worth a visit and we have already booked for another event.

Top wedding venue and hotel
I've just attended a wedding and this hotel did a fantastic job in organising the whole event, the wedding planner Melissa did a great job.The food was amazing and would recommend this hotel to anyone who's planning the big day. The bar was fully stocked and the staff we're really helpful and polite.

Friendly staff, Hotel Needs Updating
I stayed here on business for one night. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful, although the hotel could do with updating. The rooms are clean but could do with some decent decoration, it looks like it has been done on the cheap (many years ago) and the tables in the restaurant were all chipped on the corners with worn chairs.The food in the bar was poor (piri piri burger had no piri, old dry bun that fell apart and uncooked fries). When I arrived for breakfast at 08.30 there was hardly anything left and everyone who arrived after this point had to ask for glasses for the juice (very odd).In summary, a very friendly but tired hotel, but don't expect amazing food.
