OK if it was a 3 star hotel
Good location and very basic rooms. What you need to have a sleep and a shower. Clean linens but some mold in the bathroom and carpet stains throughout. I would say this would be a decent 3* hotel and I'm very surprised it's ranked as 4*. Would stay there again only if I could get the price I paid for a long weekend (less than ¿¿70).

Poor Service, Uncomfy Bed
Stayed again last week, met with colleagues for dinner, the service was really slow and we were left with our empty dinner plates for at least half an hour before anyone came. Even at that we were left again before anyone asked if we wanted desserts. After taking our order about 20 minutes later the waitress came back to tell us there was none of the dessert we had asked for and they would give us a complimentary dessert but choice was fruit salad or lemon tart - hardly worth it. I've stayed here loads of times now as its handy for lime street station and the city centre but it really is starting to grate on me!! Bed was so uncomfy when you sat down on it you immediately hit the base. Seriously needs a new menu and new mattresses.

Good value in central location
One night stay on a business trip. Bedroom was clean and comfortable but bathroom rather tired. Shower lukewarm and pressure poor. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast acceptable and the dining room was very light and bright; huge picture windows overlooking Lime Street Station. Very quiet during the night which is always a bonus in a busy city centre hotel.

excellent
stayed at the holiday inn last week with my cousin, we were on a national tour. this was the best hotel we have stayed in with the tours. the way we look at it you get what you pay for, but not this time we got what we paid for and more.the staff couldn't do enough for us, they made us very welcome, sometimes i think coach tours are just tolerated but not here.the room was fab, the meals fab, location fab, we will be back again with the tours if they are going to be staying at this hotel.

Find somewhere else!
Usually a big fan of Holiday Inn but this one's a stinker. The central heating stuck on HOT. The windows open, but won't stay open as the curtain rail is too close! TV channels poor when working. But kept dropping out (As did radio). It's very tired looking and restaurant average at best and very impersonal. Only stayed there one week but never again.
