Happy Holidays at Holiday Inn!
We stayed in a family room over the Easter Weekend 2013 and really enjoyed the break. Close to the retail outlet (Metro Centre) and various Eating places, including TGI's, KFC & a lovely family pub for lunch or an evening meal. The restaurant for breakfast was very well organised and very clean. They cater for early risers & those who like to sleep in a little later. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the rooms exceptionally clean & comfortable. We overlooked a railway line and a main road, but heard no noise at all.Very good links to Newcastle City Centre by Car, Bus or the Metro- only 10mins away.Lovely friendly people and 5 star service!

Holiday Inn Express, Newcastle Metro
The hotel was well maintained. We were surprised at how quiet the room as given that we looked across a main raod - we hardly heard any noise. It is well positioned for the Metro Centre. There were full tea and coffeee facilities and the staff were most helpful. The breakfast was self-service with a limited choice of hot food. What was available was good

Excellent Hotel
We have had reason to spend a great deal of time in Newcastle on Family Business over the last month and have stayed at this hotel each time. The staff were superb and went above and beyond their duties to make our stay welcoming and good. The Hotel itself is beautifully clean and tidy and the breakfast that is included in the cost of the room was delicious and the hot food was hot not luke warm as in some hotels. Again I can not express enough how wonderful the staff were, nothing was too much bother for them, they never made you feel like a nuisance, any little problem was dealt with quickly and efficiently.

An experience I would wish to forget.
The reception area was scruffy and unwelcoming and decore dated and well worn. The lifts were too small for anything more than two people and a suitcase, forget about a pram (which we had). The room was cold, the bed flimsy and there were stains on the side of the bed which left little to the imagination, think rooms rented by the hour and not by the night. I felt embarrassed to have booked this hotel for my family, even for such a whistle stop visit enroute from Scotland. The breakfast was appalling, I would not feed it to a condemned man on death row, let alone suggest my family should it eat. The website should have stated this hotel can be noisy with young revellers on a trip up to Newcastle for the night life, I have seen your competitors put warnings like this on their websites and strongly suggest you do the same for this hotel. As for price, value it may well be, but I've stayed in other budget hotels for the same price and never been so offended by their product. There is at least one good thing about this hotel, it's location. So close to the A1, it provides the perfect excuse to leave early and hopefully never return to this poor excuse for a hotel.

Clean and functional but coffee awful
We stayed one night in a family room and while the room was comfortable and clean, the only drawback was breakfast. The hotel was good value for money but the self service breakfast included in the price was let down by the coffee from a machine which was truly dreadful. That alone would put me off staying there again. Apart from that the staff were friendly and it was fine.
