Avoid rooms next to aircon units
Air conditioning unit outside of window was noisy and is a bit of an eyesore. Could not adjust temperature of shower. Breakfast was nice and staff were helpful and friendly. Hotel bar is nice and there is a good atmosphere.

Very warm welcome from the staff, great venue for a wedding weekend
We stayed for a family member's wedding and were made to feel right at home throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were all genuinely warm and welcoming people. The receptionist who lifted her monitor and keyboard onto the front desk so I could use her computer when I had trouble printing my boarding pass, the breakfast staff who were happy to see my toddler go down for his second breakfast and remembered his name when they'd probably only just cleaned the remnants of the first, the wonderful waitress who, despite the pressure of a blanket service wedding reception, were supremely thoughtful of my young children. One lovely waitress brought milk to mix with the babies' soup (something I'd never thought of before and my children loved it) and then the other lovely girl who washed their bibs, cups, bowls that I'd brought for them. If you're from the area, (we are not) I'd have no hesitation in recommending this as a venue for a wedding particularly if, like us, you have a lot of family needing accommodation. The way we were treated was fantastic, the staff at this hotel is its best asset and the management should be very proud of them.

Great Value Stay
Just spent our wedding anniversary in the Westwood House Hotel in Galway and it was a most enjoyable stay....very friendly service from check in to check out, very nice room (stayed in a superior room) and most of all, excellent food!! Very nice treat too that diners get a free drink at the bar after your meal... ok, its a good way to drive footfall into the bar, however, still a very nice treat... Overall, very good value for money and worth a stay for a budget night away ...

Enjoyed It
We stayed here on a Weekday on a Deal, and its an exellent Hotel in all areas, with a few exeptions. The Executive room we stayed in was perfect in everyway, exept for the heat, the room was just too warm im afraid. The Bar was packed, and the Guinness like the Crowd were very nice indeed, superb young Barman " ALAN " take a bow my Son. Youll be missed, they need to give You a Raise.. Overall exellent and we will be back.

Excellent
This hotel was excellent from check in to check out and everything in between. We stayed here for 3 nights in late March on a week long trip to Ireland. The receptionist was very welcoming and explained about the hotel. Once we got to the room we noticed the phone wasn't working. We let reception know and she apologized profusely and said she would have someone right up. True to her word, within 20 minutes we had a new phone that worked perfectly. It was so cold when we were there that the locals told us not to venture out. We took them at their word and only left the hotel one day for a trip to the Cliffs. The restaurant on site was great. Only drawback was the service was a little slow. We also ordered room service once. Same excellent service.One thing I wasn't sure about at first is the lack of anywhere to get water. We must have called down to the front desk for pitchers of water at least three times a day. They were very nice about it and would always bring new glasses for us to drink out of. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this hotel and if I return to Galway (hopefully when its warmer outside), I will stay here again.
