Could be better
I've just had 3 nights at this hotel while attending a conference, location is brilliant, reception staff were lovely on site parking was a bonus. The bedrooms were a good size and although a little dated were clean and comfortable. Wifi at ¿¿5 for 24hrs is very reasonable.Bad points - the balcony door had no handle or lock, just 2 plastic catches screwed onto the frame which didn't close the door tightly enough (room 128) let in noise and didn't feel safeThe sink overflow was dirtyThe bin in room was lined with a plastic bag but the bin itself was very dirtyDuring the stay I twice had to return to reception as the key card didn't work, same thing happened to my 2 colleaguesThe buffet breakfast was average, particularly poor was the bread for toasting, thin cheap sliced. Service was a little haphazard, tea was brought but no milk, one morning the pot only contained hot water! This morning the cleaner came in without knocking at 8.05 am and when I called out she said "oh haven't you gone yet?" Overall a nice stay but at ¿¿80 a night I expected better

Singing Weekend!
Check in was a nightmare - we were a party of 30 and they didn't have many of the rooms ready! However, the staff were great and could not fault their attitude. Having woprked in hotels, I did suggest a method for coach arrivals - hopefully the front office staff took it to their supervisors!Restaurant staff were wonderful - hotel was clean and tidy. Brilliant location and comfortable stay.

Very nice hotel in a great location !
This is a very nice hotel situated on the Quay next to the River Tyne - all rooms have a panoramic view of the river and the bedrooms are extremely comfortable, if slightly dated - very 90'sThe staff are exceptional, friendly and professional - the food to a high standard.When we were there only 1 lift was working, so that was a pain as the hotel was busy that weekend.Half a mile from Central Station which has a Metro link straight out to the airport - excellent.Overall, a great place to stay when visiting Newcastle, either on a pleasure trip or business ! Recommended !!

great place to stay
we stayed here on 24th/25th may for our wedding. we had a great time we stayed in a suite which had a double bed, sofa bed and enough room to put travel cot up to which was great.my only real downfall to this was that the bathrobes and towels were not as soft as I expected and was not comfortable wear at all and also the toilet handle didn't always work it just swung round. but the views from the 4th floor were great tho

Excellent hotel in a great location!
We stayed here on Friday & Saturday 24th/25TH May, we had a lovely time, staff on reception were very friendly and nothing to much trouble. Our room over looked the Tyne and was very clean,the bed was so comfy! The hotel is being referb but we were more than happy with what we see! We would be more than happy to come back :))
