The reception staff could not be more helpful. However it is a tired hotel obviously making a fortune in a strong Aberdeen hotel market. Breakfast was mediocre - I have better in budget hotels. It is expensive because it can charge what it likes. The price does not refer to the quality of the place. The whole place needs refurbishment.

Poor 'service' if you could call it that
The lack of customer service at this hotel was amazing. Some of the staff were very nice, however the man that works at reception could do with some people skills! we were not told until day 2 of our stay that breakfast was included in the price, although we had asked on check in where would be good to go for breakfast. We had a late night flight to catch and we decided to wait around in the hotel until we had to leave for the airport. After 2 hours of sitting in the lobby, we were never once offered a drink by passing staff. It seemed that unless you were known to the hotel as a regular visitor then you had to fend for yourself.

Ball
We had a University Ball at the Copthorne and I was very impressed by the standard of the hotel. The hotel manager - Jennifer Mann - was very patience and friendly.At the Ball itself, the food was delicious. I had two e-mails from members praising the food that they had. I had the vegetarian option which was also very tasty!Lastly, the outstanding professional standard your duty manager (and staff too) provided for us on the evening of the Ball itself was excellent. I would recommend this venue to anyone interested in hosting an event here.

How many times does one have to ask for a light for something to happen?
Our double room is set up for single occupancy; one bedside light, one chair,one packet of biscuitsThe room was so dark when we arrived that we asked for an additional bedside light. I have now asked twice and am going to ask again but I will be gone in the morning so then the staff will be happy. Outrageous price for mediocre everything

I'd like to commend Olga for her first-class service delivery at the Copthorne Hotel Aberdeen. She was attentive, friendly yet entirely professional in her work. Aberdeenshire Fashion Week went so much more smoothly thanks to her attention to detail.
