We enjoyed our stay for 6 nights.
We stayed in this hotel to attend a conference. Our stay was very comfortable. Room was very clean and spaceous. Hotel staff was very friendly. Subway station was close by and we could travel all over New York city without a car. There are lots of restaurants near by. This was one of our 3 or 4 prior stays. We will stay here again if we have to come to New York. We will recommend this hotel to any one at any time.

Nice Hotel
We stayed at the Lucerne, May 30 to June 1st, in a Deluxe Queen Suite. We got a better rate through the hotel web site than other sites on the internet. They placed us in a room on the 7th floor. There was no noise from the outside; we could not hear any traffic. The room provided a separate parlor with a leather loveseat which made into a bed. This was out main reason for booking this room; we needed a room for our 13 year old grandson. The main bedroom was nice, not huge and not really small, and the mattresses were great. There were no chairs in the main room. Our biggest complaint was once the loveseat was made into a bed there was no way to get into the bathroom without crawling over the bed. The parlor room was very small and this was the only way into the bathroom, which also was small but clean. We solved our problem by moving a small desk table that was under the TV in the parlor to be against the window and next to the bed lengthwise. It was very tight in the room but it worked out ok. The refrigerator and microwave was in the same room. It was nice to have the refrigerator in the room. One good thing was we did not hear my grandson's TV in our room even though he had it on most all the time. The hotel lobby was nice and small but there is not a bar, nor coffee in the morning. There is a guy that sets up a stand and provides some wine and I think the time is 4 to 5. I always seemed to miss him so we kept wine in the room. The hotel was responsive to everything I asked about with the exception of the parlor arrangement. My husband¿¿¿s sister was staying at the Belleclaire and had multiple problems with her air conditioner and TV. She was only staying 2 nights but they did move her when the air conditioner could not be fixed. The area is great, with lots of restaurants and shops around. Close to the subway and Central Park.

Excellent place to stay
Just came back today from 5 nights at the Lucerne, great location,easy access to all attractions but just far enough away for peace and quiet, only a 2 minute walk from central park. lovely hotel, friendly staff and comfortable rooms, would definitely recommend

A GOOD FIND!The Lucerne provided the convenience and affordablility we were looking for in an Upper West side hotel.
The Lucerne provided the conveniience and affordabilty of an Upper West side hotel.Mostly everything is within a block or two. Subway, great restaurants and shopping are all within walking distance. The Fish Tag, a restaurant recommended to us by the hotel, had quite an eclectic menu. Try it!

Nice location, very good service.
Hotel is close to Central Park and the subway. We felt very safe walking in the area at night. The staff was very helpful. They allowed us a late check-out and printed our boarding passes for us. Our room was on the 12th floor on the street side. We didn't experience any street noise.
