Perfect choice!
I had a great time staying at Holyrood with my mum, sister, brother in law nephew.The apartment is about 10 minute walk from Waverly train station. Taxi will cost about 3-5 pounds depending on how many passengers and baggage you have.As soon as we arrived we were very happy with our 2 bed apt - extremely clean, bright, two bedrooms- one of which had a cot for my nephew. All the rooms had heating, bathrooms were well equipped with The White Company toiletries, clean towels, Kitchen was well equipped with everything you would need for cooking. The fridge had a fresh bottle of milk. We were actually expecting a free breakfast hamper but we were told that if we book with Super breaks they no longer give the complimentary breakfast hamper :-( Also the views we had were of the car park - so not gr8 but we were not too bothered about this.These were the only negatives.The apartment is just off the royal mile so it is within walking distance to Edinburgh Castle, Scottish Parliament, Holyrood Palace, Our Dynamic Earth. Also there is a Tesco Express behind the hotel - come out and turn right round the corner. You can get all your groceries there and anything else you might need. We had breakfast at home and got something out for lunch and dinner. Lots of takeaway places do delivery - ask the reception for menus. We didn't have a car so not sure about parking expenses. We checked out at 12 so the hotel allowed us to store our luggage until we left Edinburgh. Overall I would recommend this place for short trips - friendly staff and great location!

Lovely!
Had an absolutely lovely stay here when visiting Edinburgh with my Mom and boyfriend - having two bedrooms/bathroom with a common living room and kitchen was amazing as we had our own space but were easily able to come together and hang out as well. We were tired enough from wandering around the city after the second day we actually decided to get dinner delivered to the room from a local restaurant - the staff were lovely about helping us arrange this and it was a nice change to watch a movie together while eating in the living room in our PJs!Rooms were a great size, beds very comfortable and whole place was very clean. Also, may seem silly but was pleased to find that we were able to run both showers at the same time without a loss of pressure or hot water - particularly handy as we were usually all trying to rush out the door in the morning to see the sights! Also loved the 'breakfast basket' on arrival, local touches were great and it lasted us the whole time we stayed (plus some extra for the train trip home!)Thought the location was great - just off Royal Mile but not right on main street so no noisy street revelers to deal with (Mom was very pleased!), but really easy to get around and see the city. We didn't have a car this trip so can't comment on car park, but glad to know it's there for next time.Can't recommend it highly enough, was actually a bit sad to leave as rooms were nicer than my flat in London by far - will be staying here again! Thanks also to the lovely staff who were very helpful and welcoming. Great visit - and mom approved!

Amazing value
I brought my niece and nephew here when they were on a visit from the U.S., and it was a perfect choice.For an excellent price, we had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a big living room, a dining room and a kitchen, so we could stay together while having lots of privacy when we wanted.The place was thoroughly modern and clean. Decoration is a bit minimalist, which I didn't mind at all. Certainly better than lots of tat. Service was excellent, with a friendly and helpful staff at the front desk always eager to give tips to travellers, call taxis, etc.We found the location to be quite good. While it may not have the charm of staying in the busiest part of the Old City, it's plenty close -- an easy walk or an inexpensive taxi ride to the thick of things.The most amazing thing about this hotel, really, is the price. It represents astonishing value. Our apartment was beautifully clean and modern, and we had all the entertainment options we could want, including a DVD library for use at any time. If you're traveling with family, this has to be the perfect spot in Edinburgh. If only more cities had hotels like it!

Excellent position, great value, friendly, attentive staff, very few restrictions.Royal Mile 1 minute away, Holyrood Park 2 minutes, Scottish parliament 1 minute and so many others (Museum 5 minutes).

Brillant Facilities, Quiet, Central Location and Child Friendly
Stayed here for a week with the family. The location at the bottom of the royal mile was perfect. Secure car park with small Tesco beside.The beds are comfortable, facilities good quality (4 star quality). Price extremely good value.Can not recommend highly enough
