Great Hotel, Great Staff
The room may have been small but what do you want for NYC. It was clean, well appointed and the staff was superb! friendly, very helpful, professional and the cookies were great!! It seemed to be close to everything we needed and if it wasn't, it was a great weekend for walking. I would stay at this hotel again in a minute! My sisters and I split the room and kept the cost down to under 200 for both nights for each of us... The staff was so nice..every single one of them

We stayed for one night at this location. Train is a couple blocks away and not too far. I would suggest heading down to.the Brooklyn Bagel Co. which is about ten blocks down but very good for breakfast. Soho is not too far as you can go shopping for a new wardrobe. Parking is your typical nyc situation and can be tough. The front desk and staff was very.helpful and accommodating and let us check in a bit early. The room was a bit smaller than your normal hotel room but not tiny. Bathroom was clean and bed was comfy. Not really a great view. TV had a good amount of channels to keep you entertained for the time you will use it. All in all it was a good stay and would recommend!

Hotel not brilliant but well situated
The hotel is in a good spot for visiting Manhattan but is not brilliant.We were a family of 4 but the room was very small - two queen beds and hardly any room to move. The bath room was also very small with not much space to put our things. It was quite noisy as the door did not seem to shut out any noise from the corridor - so quite some nocturnal wake ups. They even called us at 1:00 AM to ask if we were smoking in the room. For a family of none smokers with children this was fairly enraging ! Breakfast was OK but not much choice - I heard from a friend who was in the other double tree in the financial district that they had pancakes as part of the buffet but here you have to order them a part. This was booked as part of a trip including transport so not sure how much was paid for the room.

Very Good
Good service. Very clean. Small rooms, but it's NY and it's all you need. Would return for sure. They give you cookies when you arrive and leave. Only complaint is the sink is small and forces you to splash water all over. Overall a very good stay at a good location in Manhattan.

Good hotel with Great service close to Penn station/EWR transfer
This is a good hotel with a great staff. As many previous reviews state, the rooms here are small, but they are very clean and have plenty of electrical outlets at the desk. Bathrooms are spacious enough and well designed. Showers are plenty big. Bed was comfortable. AC worked fine. My only annoyance with the rooms is that the bathroom doors are hinged in such a way that they do not stay open. My briefcase served as a doorstop for the week. The staff across the board here is excellent. Room service, front desk, bellmen, they are all very friendly and helpful. The slightest error was immediately corrected with grace. As a person who spends three weeks/month traveling this stands out. This property is within a few blocks of Penn Station so if you're flying in and out of EWR it is very convenient to take the air train then Amtrak straight to Penn. Easy walk to Times Square and theaters. Taxis are plentiful in front of hotel. If you can't quickly flag a cab there are usually a couple of SUV drivers waiting as well. All the drivers take credit cards. Note: there is an exceptional seafood restaurant just six blocks away: Esca. Open lunch and dinner, very fresh and fantastic. I've dined there many times and it's always been amazing. They have a six seat bar which is a great place to dine if you're on your own. Easy walk from hotel.
