Excellent!
We had a 40th Bday party at the Ramada and we had the most wonderful time!.. The staff were amazing, very helpful, very attentive and extremely professional. The food was amazing, the venue was perfect and most of all the staff really did care about the event and they made sure everything was right! The manager even met us at the door to welcome us. Well done Ramada will definitely recommend your hotel!

Nice hotel, great location, decor a bit tired
We stayed here for a bank holiday weekend, booked through last minute.comWhen we arrived we were checked in to the wrong room (a double when there was 4 of us) but after going back to reception this was soon rectified and we then checked in to our suite which was very nice. We had two balconies overlooking the river and plenty of space for the 4 of us. The furniture was a little tired and old fashioned and that would be my only complaint really.The grounds of the hotel are lovely and the swimming pool and gym were good too. The location of the hotel is great, overlooking the river with lots of grounds but 15-20 mins and you are in central Birmingham.Breakfast was only served til 9.30 on Monday which I thought was strange when it was a bank holiday I was expecting it to be the same as a Sunday when they serve breakfast til 12.00Happy with hotel for price paid though and would recommend to others.

Shockingly shabby for a Ramada
This hotel is in desperate need of refurbishment. The bedroom was tatty and musty smelling, with chipped paint and long accumulated grubbiness around the floor edges and skirting boards. When you stay in a hotel room you do not want to think about all the strangers who have slept in that room before you, which is why it is so important that they are spanking clean and look unused.It's the same in the leisure centre - there is rusting paintwork and the showers look so unclean you hesitate to use them. For me this has tarnished the whole Ramada brand - I had never expected something this shabby under the Ramada name, so would do a lot more research before booking one of their hotels again.Be aware also that there is a lot of local community use of the leisure centre - which meant that when we went to use the smallish pool on Sunday morning, two-thirds of it was roped of and in use by a nursery rhyme singing toddler class.There were some good points - I thought the breakfast buffet was very good, and the staff are on the ball. The layout of the family accommodation in the separate block is great - you have your own front door then the two rooms adjoining off a small lobby area, so no need to go out into public corridors when moving between the two rooms. The bad point is there is iron staircase access to rooms above you, so I was woken about five or six times by other people clattering back to their rooms.

Great pool and Spa
Large hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Lots of corridors and passageways. They have some facilities to help the disabled. The meals were good. We had an afternoon tea, nicely set out and good value. The breakfast was very good with good choices. Buffet style. The room was comfortable, clean and overlooked the lake. The TV was really tiny and difficult to watch. The pool, sauna and steam room were excellent. The water really warm and nice seating area to sit and relax. Walk/bicycle track near hotel for a stroll.

A little bit tired but lovely staff
We had a wowcher voucher for a nights stay with breakfast, afternoon tea and a use of leisure facilities. It was a brilliant deal and we had a lovely time - The leisure facilities are the local town's leisure centre so there was quite a few kids/swimming lessons etc but still the stream room and sauna was a nice addition. The hotel was a little shabby and worn out. Unfortunately we needed to change rooms because my bed was so old it squeaked, groaned and the springs poked me. It took 4 different rooms to get 2 single beds that both were normal and not uncomfortable. BUT THE STAFF WERE AMAZING especially Amy Harvey - she was lovely and not fazed by the uncomfortable bed situation. She just asked us to pick a comfy room out of 4 options she had. The restaurant was lovely - We ate both dinner and breakfast there and everything was delicious. If it had a bit of a revamp this hotel would be amazing - The afternoon tea was also delicious - It was a good place for 4 ladies to have a brief getawayIf I ever need to visit that area again I would go back
