All round excellence!
My girlfriend and I travelled here for a bank holiday weekend break. Having booked the hotel online we didn't find out the name until we had completed the booking. With good reviews, a professional website and some pretty stunning pictures we were definitely looking forward to this break and it lived up to all our expectations. After researching the hotel and following its directions we travelled to Liverpool Street station from King's Cross on the underground. Due to it being a Saturday and bank holiday it was fairly busy which was to be expected. Perhaps one petty criticism is that the hotel states it is a 5 min walk from Liverpool street which would be true if you were an athlete runner. With bags this took approximately 15 mins but the directions otherwise were accurate. We were informed prior to our stay that the hotel was undergoing external refurbishment so there would be scaffolding on the outside (we thought this was pretty good that they informed us of this). On arrival the hotel looked spotless. We were greeted by friendly staff and due to us being early and the room not being ready they agreed to store the bags until we could check in. We were given a ticket and they were put behind reception. Shopping then commenced until we came back to check in. Again we were met by friendly staff who were very professional and gave an overview of the hotel facilities and services. Throughout the hotel it was evident that care was given to cleaning and we didn't have a bad word to say.Entering the room, we were met with a clean and contemporary finish with attention to detail being evident. Starting with the furniture, it was all clean and cushions plumped (perhaps too plump!). The bed/mattress was very comfortable, not too hard or soft with bedding being crisp white. The leather sofa made a very good surface for our bags but other than this we didn't use it. Bedside tables and a dressing table were immaculate and polished. The bathroom again was spotless, even the grout was prefect white! Bath and shower worked perfectly and no signs of mould were evident anywhere. We didn't use the mini bar because the prices were astronomical (but hey its London!), however it does tell you in the information the costs of this. A trouser press and ironing board were also provided however we didn't use these so cannot comment. A tiny negative was that the wardrobe didn't seem big enough for the two of us, due to the suit press, ironing board and mini bar taking up most of the room. The restaurant was a big highlight for the hotel and we were very impressed. On the top floor, a square shape with tables and chairs positioned towards the corner with giant glass windows so you could overlook much of London and Shoreditch made for a very impressive and romantic sight for us. Breakfast was of a buffet style with a selection of fruits, cereals, meats breads and the usual full English options. Cleanliness again was evident with all spillages being cleaned promptly. Food was very good and we felt that it obviously was of a high quality. On our final night we decided to dine in the restaurant for dinner as they had an offer of 3 courses for ¿¿25 with a glass of prosecco. This again was a highlight of our break. The food was of an extremely high quality with a professional service ensuring we were happy at all times (felt like something between masterchef and a Michelin star!). In summary we could not fault the hotel. The staff were happy to answer any questions and the concierge/reception made every effort to give us any information we needed. Attention to detail was evident from the beginning especially when it came to cleaning. We would definitely stay here again and could see why standard prices were a bit high. One thing to mention is that we found in the evening that the hotel is situated fairly central in the nightlife of London's east end. Possibly due to it being a bank holiday it was very busy at night with students and party-goers. We had no issu

Stay highly recommended
A group of us stayed here bank holiday weekend. The hotel far exceeded our expectations, it's a very classy hotel, the rooms were superb and the staff were very helpful.Breakfast in the Globe Restaurant was fantastic roof top location with panoramic views. The location is central to all the Shoreditch bars, pubs, clubs, shops and restaurants. We will definitely be returning!

Much better second time round
This is the second time I have stayed here but the first time was a number if years ago. The first time i was under whelmed. However I think the hotel has got much better and I enjoy the stay here last week. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. Hotel bar was nice and relaxing after a long day in the office, food very good. Would stay here again.

Perfect pre marathon stay
From the close proximity to Liverpool Street, to the design and comfort of the hotel, this was a perfect pre marathon stay. Our check in was smooth, with a very friendly receptionist - it was also really nice to have every member of staff I saw on the marathon morning wish me luck.We stayed in a club room which was lovely - some really nice touches, like lavender pillow mist, made it a bit more special.Breakfast is a tad expensive, but is extensive so you can eat to your hearts content. The view from the dining room is awesome!!!Overall, loved our stay and would def come back

Fine for business
Stayed here while on a business trip to London. It's fine. That's all I can say really. Location is ok. Good transport links. The hotel is functional rather than appealing. Food was very bland. No atmosphere in the bar or restaurant. Have to say I was impressed with the night porter. Someone tried to gain access to my room while I was out and they dealt with it promptly. The security isn't the greatest, people can come and go as they please. In this area I'd recommend something slightly more secure. Overall, wouldn't stay here on a personal trip but if you come here for work you'll survive. The shower is rubbish!
