This hotel is conveniently located next to Northwestern University, so if you have any business at the university, this would be a place to stay. I only have positive things to say about my stay. The receptionists were extremely professional and friendly. I checked in early and did not have any of the guilt-tripping about it that you sometimes get at other hotels. My room was spacious and quiet; it had a bath-tub and all necessary amenities. Everything worked smoothly. There is a very comfortable lobby bar downstairs that is a great hang-out place for guests and visitors alike. The fitness center at the hotel is one of the better ones I've seen. It's got probably about a dozen different treadmills, stair masters, and bikes, so there's plenty to choose from, even if there were many people there. I found the restaurant at the hotel very reasonably priced, especially in comparison to other Hiltons I've stayed in before. The hotel is within walking distance from many restaurants. A colleague took me to FOUND, which is said to be the coolest new restaurant in the Chicago area--and I can't argue with that. Both the ambience and food were terrific. Be prepared to wait, though, it is very popular. My only complaint is that it was a little noisy, but that was my own fault for not asking for a quiet room. Overall, a terrific stay. Would definitely stay there again.

My wife and I stayed at the Hilton Orrington last weekend. The staff was very good. The breakfast buffet was fine but nothing out of the ordinary.The room was a bit on the small side but nice. The bed was extremely comfortable. My only problem with the room was the bathroom. It was extremely small. For a hotel of this quality, the bathrooms should be upgraded. Given the age of the hotel, I doubt that will be possible. Having said that I would stay again. If you need to be in Evanston, you can't beat the location.

I was here for business, company paid for my stay so I can't speak about price/value.Staff was great, great location as well. Clean room.Had a little trouble printing stuff out at the business center, only thing that didn't quite work for me.

After many sleepless nights at the Orrington - at least 10 stays in the past year and a half - I got a room that allowed sleep!! The key to sleep is on the 8th floor. I even had a large bathroom. I am a NW parent and that was the only thing bringing me back to this hotel on previous occasions but this visit was a sucess!

1) Blinds are quite ineffective. They do NOT keep the sunlight, which caused me to wake early. 2) Bathroom is tiny and feels very cramped. Really disappointing for the amount of money I paid for this room. For these 2 reasons, I would not stay here again. Or at least not at a $189 room rate.
