Would stay again
Booked here because I went to a wedding at the Dynasty restaurant at Vallco. Nice place, close to the freeway and lots of free parking. Walking distance to the plaza which has lots of food options (asian). Our room was along the street but didn't hear a lot of noise.

Courtyard Marriott San Jose
Really easy on / Easy off exit from the 280 Freeway - made it really nice and accessible from our journey to the Winchester mystery house and great eating / shopping area that is Santa Row. The hotel is very neat and clean. Nice Modern look to the hotel lobby with a nice coffee / Pastry bar. Rooms were decent and comfortable and quiet. Always a plus when staying near the freeway not to hear the traffic. Was here with my Wife, Daughter and her Friend. Rooms were comfy and bathroom was on the larger size. Not huge but larger. Staff friendly and helpful

Courtyard Consistency
I stayed here for a business meeting in Sunnyvale. I think it is an older property, but it was clean and well kept. All staff I interacted with were professional and friendly. Unfortunately I had a bottom floor room near an entry door on the street side of the hotel, which I do not prefer both from security and noise perspectives But really overall - no complaints. I'd stay here again on a future trip (and request a room on a high floor away from the noisy street.)

Thumbs- down on the "New Lobby" concept
I've stayed many times at Courtyards and while they are not fancy, they have always provided a good value and a pleasant stay. As a lifetime "Platinum" at Marriot I think I understand their brand pretty well by now. And they normally get a very good rating from me.The staff were very cheerful and pleasant, even a smidge better than the normally top- rate Marriott standard. Nonetheless I will not stay there again. This Courtyard has what I hope does NOT become the standard throughout the chain: a revised breakfast area with a definite attempt to appeal to people who are too busy to enjoy life. The new concept is basically ¿¿¿grab your grub and go¿¿¿, with an option to sit. In other words, there is a counter, and you stand in line and order from a limited selection, paying on the spot. That means that if you want to stay, enjoy your breakfast, maybe have a couple more cups of coffee-- then you have to get up, stand in line again, pay again and explain to your boss why there are three line items on your bill for a single breakfast. I find the whole process of standing in line, getting and paying for food here woefully inadequate -- except if you only want to grab and go. But I can do that at Peet's and get much better coffee. In fact, the Courtyard staff¿¿¿s reaction of total surprise that I would want to stay and sit reveals a lot - it's like, "Well, you rush around all the time, you should be rushing around while eating breakfast, too. Get with the US Standard." Sorry, not my style. And breakfast this way is not cheap. If you walk across the parking lot to the Hilton Garden Inn, you can have a huge buffet including oatmeal, fresh fruits, cooked- to order omelets, bacon and sausage, cottage cheese, a couple different kinds of scrambled eggs, Chef's Special, etc., etc., etc. - for less money than a soggy breakfast sandwich and two cups of coffee at the Courtyard, and the Hilton gives you gracious table service and no standing in line. That is what I recommend at this Courtyard: vote with your feet and go to the Hilton for breakfast.Next, at breakfast, they had big-band crooner music blasting. I'm sorry - blasting crooners is NOT what I want to to hear at breakfast. And in the evening, they blasted it so loudly in the (unoccupied) terrace area, I could hear it well at the far end of the courtyard. I don¿¿¿t particularly want them to "entertain" me in the public areas, and forcing me to be "entertained" in my own room is downright annoying. One more annoyance at this property: I understand that since there are far too few rooms available in Cupertino, pricing will at times reflect that situation. But $360 per night plus taxes and fees = >$400 per night for a COURTYARD??? That falls into the rip-off - gouging category for me. For my next visit I've booked at the Hilton Garden Inn for less $ and far more value.

Not a bad option in Cupertino
A nice property that is convenient to I-280 and many Silicon Valley companies. It's a perfect hotel for business. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Even though it's right off the highway and you can hear some noise, I slept very well; most likely due to the very comfortable bed. I got a great rate and the staff at both the front desk and bar/restaurant were extremely accommodating. I didn't get a chance to use the pool or exercise facility but they looked like your basic Courtyard ones. It's a little tough to find as it's hidden behind a Hilton but once you spot it, it's easy to get to. Will add this to my hotel options for this area.
