Good location
We stayed here for 4 nights in april 2013. Location is fantastic, handy for drassanes metro stop and a few minutes walk to las ramblas. Front desk staff were helpful and pleasant, however consierge was very rude!!! We were given the only double room left which faced onto another room but were changed immediately to a room that faced out onto a small square which was much better (even though it was a twin instead of double room).Room was fairly big and clean, fridge in room did not work and there were no english channels on tv. There was a lot of noise in the mornings but the location of the hotel means that it is unavoidable and we were aware of this before going.For location alone we would def stay here again, and the price is excellent also - however for a 4* hotel there are a lot of improvements that could be made.

Excellent Place To Stay
We stayed at the Medinaceli after our cruise in September 2012. It was about a ten minute walk from the downtown cruise terminal (the other cruise terminal is a few kilometers away) , not far from Christopher Columbus's statue at the lower end of Ramblas; it was easy to roll our luggage on the sidewalk; didn't need a cab. The room was clean, roomy enough; staff was very helpful. It's at the edge of the Gothic area and close to las Ramblas; There are many restaurants within walking distance. Staff told us how to take the city bus (about five blocks away) to Gaudi's Church of the Sacred Family. Staff also arranged for a cab to the airport the next day; this was much appreciated since a general transportation strike was called for on that day. All this for a $95 US room booked on Hotels.com. We'd definitely stay there again.

Nice Hotel
Me and my friend stayed here for a girly getaway in March...what a lovely hotel!we were a bit worried about reviews on here before hand but everything was fine!The hotel is located near La Ramblas (3 min walk away)really convinient for everything! dining out,drinks,shopping!talking of dining out there is a lovely restaurant/bar around the corner called Guru,i would highly recommed this for some tapas and drinks.Staff were very friendly and helpful,the receptionist gave us advice on the bus tours and even gave us a pack with ¿¿ off the tickets.The rooms were really clean and spacious (our bathroom was huge!)we also had a balcony looking out onto the marina. The maid came in every day to change towels and make the beds.The hotel is opposite a square where some drunk people hang about at night but i dont think they cause trouble,i would advise you take ear plugs though because of this and also you can hear traffic early in the morning.Breakfast was good!a good selection with meats, cheese, sausages, fruit, cereal, eggs, bread etc!good to fill you up for a day of sightseeing!overall we had a really nice stay here and if i were to return to Barcelona I would probably stay here again!the location is amazing and hotel is really nice,what more do you want?!i will also be reccomending to friends and family.

Perfect ratio quality vs price
Very well located been near La Rambla. Big rooms. Tv only in catalan and spanish. No carpets into the room so it will be good to have slippers with you. Hotel is clean and have heating , working very good (useful in cold nights). No minibar in the room so use the small stores near the hotel to buy your basic needs. We had a very pleasent staying in this hotel and they have very good conditions considering the price paid. Staff is very good and supportive.

A Clean place to stay in
May be it can not have a perfect location but the rooms are big and also it was clean. You can eat traditional Spanish foods in the breakfast and it was quite OK. The best thing is hotel is just near the best bar in Barcelona called, "Margarita Blue". Hotel staff was friendly.
