It Could be Great
This hotel is living off two assets--its wonderful location near the Pantheon and its very competent staff. Aside from this, it is an over-priced relic of a grand past. The public rooms are dowdy and the bed rooms are more utilitarian than grand Roman. While not objectionable, the hotel has been neglected and needs a thorough upgrade.

Excellent location and service!
My husband and I stayed at this hotel on our honeymoon in October 2012. This hotel was in the perfect location, just a stone's throw away from the Pantheon. We were on the top floor with a view out our window of the back of the Pantheon. Room was clean and spacious. The price seemed a little steep for the luxury of the place, but I think "American luxury" is a little different... Lobby was beautiful. We did not take advantage of the rooftop bar or restaurant, but during the day, we could hear the live music from the rooftop waft into our room (we had the window open); it was very romantic! Hotel is within walking distance almost all locations; we quickly discovered that Rome is a small city, but with the hotel being centrally located, it made it easy to walk to everything. The Colosseum was a 15-20 min walk. Vatican was about a 15 min walk to metro and then a 5 min metro ride. Piazzo Navona is a quick 5 min walk. Trevi fountain is about a 10 min walk. Couldn't be happier with our choice of hotel!

Great place but has some glitches
As all the other reviews, location is great. Just a heads up on a few glitches;1. No hot water for showers after 9am2. Aircon does not cool, only circulates the air.3. "Classic" room is very small.4. Small beer cost 12 Euro5. Service in the roof terrace was very slow.All that said, I would still stay there again.

Great location, excellent service but very expensive
We booked to stay here at the last minute as we had trouble with our first accomodation. The hotel is walking distance to the main attractions, it looks fabulous and our room was furnished to a high standard. It was clean, modern and beautiful with a mini fridge that got re stocked every day. The bathroom was large, clean and modern too. Room service is effficient and the staff are helpful & extremly professional. There is a lot of outside noise which can go on late into the night and starts early in the morning but this is probably because the hotel is so central. Also, it was hot all week but there was no air conditioning in our room; may be air con is only turned on in the middle of summer? We did not have breakfast at this hotel during our week long stay because it was too expensive and unjustifiable. Overall this hotel is pricey but great and the location is fantastic.

Awesome location, beautiful room and great service, but very pricey and breakfast not great
This hotel is about a half a block from the Pantheon on a quiet square just a few steps away from the throngs of tourists and cafes. I highly rate the location; it is my favorite place to stay in Rome. Both the ancient sites as well as the Vatican are easily walkable, and the location is perfect for evening strolls around the old narrow streets filled with restaurants and cafes. Service at the hotel was excellent and the room, which has a side view of the Pantheon, was very large, clean and beautiful. The only downside, and it is a pretty big one, is the price. Very expensive. Even breakfast, which we rated as "just ok" was 35 euros each. So in the end, I say stay there if you want to splurge, but there are plenty of less expensive options close by with few trade-offs if you are on a budget.
