Fun Weekend Getaway
My sister and I stayed here last weekend, 12-14 May. We arrived at the SM Novella Train station and our van was waiting (the free shuttle van has scheduled times for pick up and drop off) and the 5 minute ride was easy, Check in was fast, and we stored our suitcase until the afternoon, check in time is after 2:00pm. The hotel is a 15 minute easy walk along the Arno River and very easy, and beautiful, or the # 6 bus comes 1 block (150 feet) from the hotel every 15 minutes, or less..Room was a nice size with 2 twin beds and a lovely size bathroom. The Lighting on the walls and ceiling looked like stars all night..we loved it!Breakfast was awesome with a lot of choices, eggs, cold cuts, cheeses, yogurt, and different breads and pastries. Loved the service, the Front Desk all spoke English, and were happy to give any help. Great restaurant 2 blocks away, pizza was very good as were the prices, and this is located in a family area- so it was locals eating there on a Sunday night.

Don't be fooled by the 'clean' pictures!
Sometimes you just know from the moment you walk in.There was a strange atmosphere at the check-in desk. We missed the true 'welcome' we've gotten so many times at other, similar hotels. And what suprised us the most was that the 'clean' look from the pictures we saw didn't live up to reality. There were even used napkins on the floor in front of the reception. Several staff members just walked by and ignored the 'dirt'. In general staff gave a rather 'lazy' impression.Upon arrival the setting of the hotel put us of a bit. The hotel is tucked away behind some 'shabby' flats and isn't quite in the center of Florence. We parked the car in the cramped underground parking, but let me give you a useful piece of advice (for your wallet): don't park your car there. They will charge you 20 euros a day, while other hotel guests just leave their car on the sidewalks near the reception. Since it's within the hotel premises and the main gates were open the whole time we were there, you can easily park there (for free!).The rooms are designed in such a way that they miss every sense of warmth and hospitality. The outlay of our room was very odd, with most sun light blocked out of the room. Overall the whole room was a perfect example of design taken to the clinical level. Nice on pictures. But not to live in! Especially the bathroom (we called it 'the butcher shop') and bed area gave us the creeps. We had one of the rooms where the bedroom walls and ceiling are covered in black leather. The only thing missing: the x-rated movie crew. We expected them to walk in at every moment.We had booked a 2 nights stay, but left the hotel after one night and found ourselves a new place to stay. The new place saved our trip to Florence.We are frequent travelers and would like to give you this advice: don't spend your money on this overpriced place. Don't be fooled by the looks. We can recommend you better places to stay in Florence.

It COULD be awesome, just missed, but at a nice price
Cool location, away from all the hustle and bustle, and a very friendly staff. The room was comfortable and clean but the black hallways would be cool if the paint were kept up with. Nicked and spotted everywhere. That avant-garde look is hip but you have to stay ahead of it or it just looks like you're either not paying attention or you're too cheap to fix it. The restaurant we avoided as it's overpriced, and the breakfast buffet was all good except for the worst scrambled eggs in the history of chicken ovaries. Whatever you're doing to those poor eggs qualifies for animal abuse. Over beaten and completely inedible. The bathroom was large and nice, but the mist that you call is shower was worthless so we washed ourselves in the oversized tub. Pretty inconvenient, and again, I think the proprietors took form well before function here. Lighting is sketchy as well downstairs. The neon chandeliers emit a sort of low-rent light that didn't make sense to me. Overall, a really nice price and good spot, but I'd look elsewhere next time.

Easily the coolest hotel I've ever been to!
As the title says - this hotel is cool! The lobby definitely has the 'wow' factor. The staff were really friendly and helped us out with anything we needed. The room was amazing. If you love trendy lighting and room designs you will love this hotel! It was definitely one of the highlights of our Italy trip. I can't recommend this place enough! The only down side is it's location relative to the historic centre of the city. It is a decent 20-25 minute walk. But if you're happy to catch a bus or ride a bike it is perfect!

Trendy and Chic for a good price!!
Really nice Hotel, with an amazing Lobby, modern design, trendy and luxurious, it is not in the center of the action but you can walk 15 minutes to be there, which feels like nothing, the staff is friendly and always triyng to help, we stayed at the executive room, It was really trendy, we loved the concept, I loved the bathtoom, I think the price is fair for such a beautiful room and the breakfast was really good as well, definetely will return here next year. The near by area is nice but not so touristic.
