Great for seeing a gig at 02
Although there is quite a walk into the city center ( about 20/25 mins,which is no fun in the rain!), this hotel is a lovely 10 min stroll along the Liffey from the 02 arena which makes it perfect if you are going to a show, time enough to chat about what a great time you had at the concert! It was a bit pricey at ¿¿¿180 room only but we were given ¿¿¿10 vouchers for breakfast the next morning which took the sting out of the price a little. The reception staff were lovely and when we checked in we were asked if we had a preference of a lower or upper floor, we didn't, so were were delighted when we were upgraded to a superior room in an upper floor. I have stayed in various graded hotels in Dublin throughout the years and I can honestly say, hand on heart, that I have never slept better then in the Maldron. It was a lovely big queen size bed with fabulous pillows (I like a nice pillow!). With most hotels there is a good chance you'll hear other patrons coming back from the pubs and clubs at all hours of the night but we didn't hear a soul and slept soundly all night. We woke up refreshed to a nice hot shower which set us up for nicely for the day. The towels were a bit on the rough side and could have done with a touch of fabric softener in the wash! We were glad we prebooked a parking space ( booked through the hotel website at a discount) in the near by parking lot as it was full when we arrived but we had no problems and at ¿¿¿15 for 24 hours it was great value. Would I stay in the Maldron again? Absolutely, but as a treat as it is a bit more than I would normally like to pay!

Weekend break
Booked a weekend stay for a recent business trip. The Maldron hotel on Cardiff Lane is conveniently located to Connolly station and the Dart, although we got a taxi from the station it is at most 15mins walk. Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious with a balcony. Relaxed atmosphere in the Chic hotel Lobby bar helped me unwind after a long day of work talk, followed by a meal in the restaurant which was very enjoyable and reasonably priced.The hotel staff from reception, restaurant and portering were chatty pleasant and helpful which made me feel valued and welcome.I will definitely be back and have already recommended it to friends.

Long walk to Temple Bar area
We had a long walk twice a day to and from main area of city for dinner etc. room was very comfy brekky was very nice and plentiful, friendly and helpful staff. No car parking on site but there is a location close by for hotel use at a discounted rate for guests.

4 stars, I doubt it!
From the arrival to the checkout this was truly NOT a 4 star experience. The stay turned sour with the arrival at the reception area of the hotel which resembles a shopping mall more than a Hotel.Reflecting on the rooms, the let-down was increasing.... basic fittings one would expect from a 4, even a 3 star Hotel where missing! Just to cover the basics: there is no minibar, safe or aircon in the rooms. Oh and the in-room television looks like a museum item. Providing the above I deemed to be a necessity for a 4 or even 3 star rating. More detailed touches missing where also strongly notable. The wardrobes had no doors and looked more like a unfinished Ikea furniture than using a 4 star experience. The bedding was terrible whit synthetic cushions and duvet cover. The mattress was of cheap quality and one could feel the springs. If you think luxury bed linen, forget about it: the linen is some sort 100TC cleaning cloth experience. Overall I left wondering how this Hotel achieved its star rating. Compared to the other reviews I'd like to add, that the only positive experience in this Hotel was the friendly and helpful staff which truly offered a good service.I wonder if the Maldron Hotel; Smithfield is better?

A1 hotel
Excellent location and facilities, approx 15mins walk from Temple bar and St Stephens Green. Swimming pool requires all users to wear a cap (can be bought at hotel) but I think this is everywhere in Ireland
