good hotel
A good hotel comfortable clean and tidy. Breakfast is good except try not to eat at about 8am as the breakfast bar is very busy because this hotel is situated in the business area and everyone is eating before going to work.We stayed there because it was suppose to be close to the Real Madrid Football stadium but it is still a good 1.5 kms to the ground. The staff were friendly but their English Language is not real good. It is next to a Metro Station which travels into the city.There are some food places near the hotel but again the staff speak little English. Overall a tidy and comfortable hotel similar to the Premier range of Hotels in England.

Really good hotel
I stayed here during a recent business trip to Madrid. The location was perfect for me, just the right balance between the airport and city centre as well as the Chamartin railway station which I used for a trip to Northern Spain. The hotel has decent sized rooms and reliable wifi access. All nice and clean with a powerful shower. Breakfast was excellent and the restaurant was good - nothing mindblowing but good enough, only down side to the restaurant is the annoyingly small servings of soft drinks. The staff were chatty and friendly though, which is a plus. The area isn't one to explore and there aren't many cafes or restaurants to speak of, but it's a perfect hotel for business trips. The lifts can be congested in the morning.

Good but not exciting
The hotel looks like a business oriented one, not in the center of the city but in what looks like a financial area - very good connected via public transport but not so much to do there. The hotel itself is good, rooms clean and with enough space. Staff is average helpful, breakfast good but crowded at 8 am. Maybe a little too expensive if you go for personal reasons.

It offers everything you need for a pleasant stay in Madrid. +breakfast+size of beds and rooms + cleanliness+next to a metro station(line 1, direct to the centre)However, there are no good restaurants nearby.

Easter 3 day break at Silken Puerta Castilla Madrid
Just left Silken Puerta Castill Madrid now staying at Jardin Metroploitano Madrid before heading off to Europark Barcelona and then Rome. Staff are very helpful and friendly at Silken.The hotel is easily acccessible to Central Madrid bus 147 to Callao (17 mins) or train line 1 to Sol (12 mns)My room there has an uncanny resemblance to one I stayed in Fareham England, a Premier Inn Hotel( in term of size a good size and very good luggage space) But Silken was without problems, Wifi was "fair" on 7th floor. Watching tv now at Jardin Metro' so I guess they could have more english channels and music channels. ) Both gyms are small, but Silken is better is it has 3 weights too.A good tip is to buy a 12 ticket bundle for 10 euros. Otherwise, 1.80 euro per metro journey or 1.50 euro via bus. Nearest station Plaza de Castilla bus stop and Metro 30 secs from hotel.A very good price and excellent value I would recommend it to any traveller going to Madrid. (ps Rooms are a lot bigger than my photo gives an impression of)
