BANG BANG BANG BANG!!!
Bang!!! Doors were banging all through the day and night!!!! I think it was the cupboard and wardrobe doors that people just kept letting the doors slam ALL night long! Some door stoppers could be a useful investment for the hotel. We did not get a good nights sleep at all.... walls seemed to be made of paper too. A very noisey hotel albeit a clean one.Location was a little undesirable. In the New part of Barcelons so lots of buildings being torn down and work being done. Not a very nice area.Metro was 5-10 mins walk away. Beech 15-20 mins walk away. Shopping Centre Diagonal Mar was a bit of a life saver as had a good selection of restuarants to choose from and very useful supermarket.I also requested a non smoking room and when we got in the room there was an ashtray in there which suggests to me that it WAS a smoking room!On a positive the hotel staff were very friendly and very helpful.

Excellent choice if you prefer not to stay in busy and noicy city center. Easyly reachable by metro, taxi to city centre 13 EUR, friendly staff, nice atmosphere and definitelly recomend the breakfast.

A hidden gem in a bustling city
We loved this hotel-we have just returned -spent the first night at the Tryp Apolo before going to Valencia-then we came back to the Condal Mar-it is not in the centre so it is quiet -very modern hotel with friendly helpful staff -excellent breakfast-on theDiagonal Ave is a huge shopping Mall with lots of bars and restaurants and also a huge supermarket-it's only about a 10 minute walk from the hotel-make sure you read the directions to the hotel-it's a 5 minute walk from the Metro " Selva de Mar "-Swimming pool on roof with lots of loungers -also a free sauna and steam room -a true hidden gem -great bargain for a city hotel -if you are prepared to travel in

Perfect hotel, slightly far from the centre but right by the beach!
As I was staying here in march I did not have too many intentions of using the beach properly, however the Tryp Condal Mar was only 5 mins from the beach which was beautiful to walk along. The hotel itself is very modern, rooms are stylish and very clean, with great bathrooms. Could see the Sagrada Familia from our room which was amazing. Hotel breakfast was fantastic, great choice of pastries, juices and hot food, however the restaurant for dinner wasn't particularly exciting. The staff were all extremely kind and very willing to help us reserve restaurants, help us get directions and also advise us on the best things to do. The only slight let down is the location, as it is a good 1h/1h30 to walk to the centre of town. The metro is obviously quicker but it stops running at midnight meaning that you have to use taxis to get home. For the price we paid however, we really got our money's worth and am sure a more central hotel would have had much smaller rooms and less ambience. Would definitely stay here again!
