Beautiful Setting
Nice hotel in a gorgeous setting. Good sized rooms, but makes no pretense of being a luxury hotel or anything like it. No robes, etc. Hotel staff were all friendly but seemed to be uncomfortably new on the job.

Wonderful grounds, food, and staff
I spent two nights in early May at the Tarrytown House Estate. The room was nice and I slept well. The highlights for me, though, were the food and the grounds. I was there for a conference and we had great buffets (3 a day) wtih a lot of delicious choices. In early May, it was sunny and warm, and we were able to spend the afternoons outdoors on the patio overlooking the Hudson River. Each morning I walked the grounds and off the campus in the surrounding neighborhood.

Nice place
Stayed in TarryTown Estate in Dec, 2012 and with the temperature around -4 to +1 C, I could not enjoy this great place. However, from my brief strolls across the property I could say it is a fantastic place to say on warmer months with beautiful view of the Hudson. All rooms and indoor areas are Non Smoking, however, there is plenty of areas to smoke as it is set on top of a small hill with walking/jogging tracks and sitting areas.On the downside, breakfast was (surprisingly) not included and was very expensive ($ 25+) for the quality.

Nice stay... GREAT town!
Wish we had more time to explore this very nice town! The property was great, and we enjoyed the Cellar 49 restaurant twice. The first time (for dinner) had great service. The crab cake was not so great (thin and mushy), but the salads were wonderful and big! Good wine selection. We returned with friends for a night cap, and it seemed we were holding up the closing. The bartender wasn't a fan of ours.On the rooms, pack a blow dryer. The property is so nice, but the hair dryers in the room are laughable. Otherwise, a beautiful property that we wish we could've explored more.

Perfect weekend
It's one of those places that you spontaneously grab a significant other and spend a beautiful weekend, coming back home regenerated! The only thing to add there would be a kids playing room, or a small playground- but nothing that would convert the place into kids destination:)
