I agree with Chris D that this hotel is more of a three-star hotel than four-star. Our room, which we got for about $150 a night (way below the EU339 on the front desk's tariff), was good value for this part of Paris. The room was spacious but musty; comfortable but quite a walk from the lift; and sufficiently appointed but horribly accessed from within the fire exit stairwell (we literally had to go inside the stairwell to get to our door). The breakfast was good value for the price we paid (we had just come from Italy where breakfasts can be a little to starchy) so we were pleased to have bacon and eggs for a change. The bacon and eggs went fast though and it took the staff more time than it should to replenish the chafing dishes. The front desk staff were welcoming and helpful but the breakfast staff, except for one waiter, were all very cold. Not that I had any real issues with it, but I'd think 4-star hotel staff could do better by greeting guests "Bonjour!" in the morning. Again, no particular issues, but it is the first time I've seen hotel staff eat the same breakfast in the same room with hotel guests.All in all, we definitely would not have stayed here if we had to pay more than we did. If you are looking for a real 4-star hotel, this may not be the place for you. Then again, you might have been lured by the price which, in all fairness, is okay.

I thought the hotel was pretty good. It's definitely more a 3 star than a 4 but large rooms, friendly staff, very good location & we got it for less than ¿¿100 a night including breakfast. For what we paid I thought it was very good.

We stayed here in march and had a perfect trip, the staff are incredibly friendly and were helpful when checking in & offering us information and a street map. The rooms are quite tired with dirty marks etc but this doesn't take away from the fact the rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable & the bathroom was lovely. What you would expect for the price we paid. Lovely restaurants nearby, cannot think of the name but one on the corner does great steak & cocktails! For a city break to sleep and relax after a long days sightseeing in Paris I would say this hotel is great value for what you pay.

We stayed in this hotel for 6 nights, two adults and a 7-year old. Room we had was adequate for us. We even had a little balcony overlooking the street. The hotel is very cute, very "european" and "parisian", nice vintage elevator. Location was good, walking distance to everything, several convenience and grocery stores nearby, subway stations, restaurants, sit-down and fast-food. Breakfast buffet each day was awesome way to start. Still miss their baguette and little raisin swirl pastries.Definitely not 4 stars, but to our opinion, good value, would recommend anybody.

We stayed here for two nights and liked the hotel. Parts of it look a little tired but it was substantially better than our supposedly-four-star London hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable. I especially liked the old-fashioned elevator and period dining room. Staff could not be more helpful. We had our adult son with us and when it turned out that he could not it in the room I had booked, we were offered a free upgrade to a larger room.I note some comments in other reviews about the area. I would describe the area as multicultural and a bit colourful. I felt perfectly safe.Julien, a restaurant around the corner, was fantastic.
