We stayed here for 2 nights, great location opposite the train station just on the edge of the red light district, we arrive at 10 am and our room was ready and we were advised at check in that NH hotels have a late check out on Sundays 5pm which was great as we did not fly home until 8pm. The price was very reasonable but i would not say the hotel is 5 star. Some great local bars just around the corner too. Would stay here again next time we visit Amsterdam.

Great location
The is a pretty property that is in a great location. The concierge was very helpful with directions and we purchased tickets for our canal cruise through him instead of standing in a long line at the dock. We were able to walk all over Amsterdam from this hotel. My only complaint would be at check in. Even though we had prepaid for a king size bed we were told that there weren't any available upon our arrival. I understand there isn't a guarantee but it was in the manner the front desk handled the situation that was upsetting. This is not an inexpensive hotel and the staff was borderline rude at check in. Once I complained about it we were "upgraded" or a king size room became available. I am not sure which one. The room was lovely with nice, dark curtains allowing us to sleep in. Aside from the front desk a very good experience.

Good location for getting around
the location of the hotel was excellent, opposite Central station, which is the hub of the local tram network and where you arrive in from the airport. you can get to any of the main tourist attractions within 15 minutes by tram. Then if you choose to have a wander through the streets you can always follow your way back to central station by tram. Hotel itself was clean and quiet, despite it being next to a main road. I thought it was a little on the expensive side but not so much that I would say it was totally overpriced. Lots of interesting bars and restaurants nearby.So if you eat outside of the area get the last tram back at about 12 and have a nightcap locally.

Great location
We had a nice, comfortable, quiet room. Staff was very friendly. Great buffet breakfast. It was very near Central Station and within walking distance of several attractions. We walked to the Anne Frank House, and it took about 25 minutes, but we were there on a holiday weekend, and it was very crowded. As a first time visitor to Amsterdam, my advice is watch out for those bikes! They have the right-of-way and will run you down if you get in their way.

End of my holiday
My friend and I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights at the end of our holiday. We had much better accommodation elsewhere for less money. We had a quiet room which was quite basic, but lots of towels were provided which was nice plus we actually had facecloths!The Concierge was not as helpful as others had been. The restaurant was much too expensive for breakfast and the other lounges seemed not to be staffed. The public areas were quite confusing.
