Less than we expected
Very noisy, even with closed windowsThey say it"s 4 stars but it's barely 3There is a ubiquos, unpleasant smellThe air conditioning system was broken 3 days from 4.The location is very good but a little too far from the nearest Metro stationThe front desk personel very helpfull.Clean but small roomsBreakfast is indeed cold buffet, very few varieties to choose, not 4 stars

Average Hotel in a beautiful city
Having booked this hotel through a "Secret" hotel deal, and then reading the horrible reviews we were worried about our stay here.However everyone knows you don't stay in Rome to enjoy the hotel facilities, but to explore the wonderful city. So we went with an open mind.On first arrival the check in went smoothly, the desk staff was cheerful and competent. We were assigned a room and left to make our own way there.Room 101....Rooms certainly look a little scruffy around the edges and could do with an update. The bathroom, whilst functional, could also do with some tlc. However, we were satisfied that we would be ok. After all, all we needed was somewhere to sleep at night. Its location in the hotel wasn't great. Right at the front of the hotel, it was fairly noisy when there were deliveries to the hotel early morning! Especially when the cages containing towels were bumped up and down the stairs in the mornings.We asked if there was another room we could change to, but as we're now into peak season there was none available.The buffet breakfast whilst basic was enough for us to start the day - a pastry and a coffee.This hotel is definitely not 4* and if I had been expecting somewhere luxurious then I would have been very disappointed. Although for the price (compared to others in Rome) if you are expecting a "luxury" hotel then you're living in a dream land!!The surrounding area is not very touristy. Although its was nice to be close to the Borghese park. Lovely for a relaxing afternoon after sightseeing.We found a couple of lovely restaurants locally :Ristorante Cadorna - a lovely local trattoria with beautiful food on Via Raffaele CadornaAnatra Grassa - a bit more upmarket or "chefy" on Via SavoiaAl Forno della Soffitta - wood fired oven pizzas and pastas, plus beautiful desserts on Via PiaveAnother lovely restaurant that we stubbled across was Matricianella on the Via del Leone (west of the spanish steps/ trevi fountain.

Nice hotel
My experience in Hotel Executive was good, once I went to Rome with my wife to know the city for 4 days and it fullfil our needs. The breakfast was nice as long as the people. The hotel positioning is very good once during the day there are lots of buses passing by to go to the centre of the city and during the night, the nearby restaurants are very cosy.

Please don't stay here, more like 1 star!!
Wow. Where do I begin? I don't intend to tear apart the hotel with this review, i'm just stating facts.I stayed here in February for 3 nights with my brother.. And wow.1) It took us 45 mins to find it.. The nearest metro station was 20 minutes away.2) It's an outdated small hotel.. The rooms are from the 1980s, there's no TV ( Which I didn't mind really, but some people might ). The bathroom was disgusting when we got there, it looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in a month.3) The room had NO HEAT, and at night we froze, the beds have only 1 layer of sheets ( No blankets, etc)4) The wifi is terrible, impossible to get any work done, let alone video chat with family. ( Haven't seen them in months ).5) I read the reviews, and they say the breakfast is promising. Well, it's not.It's basically canned pineapple, hard, stale bread, packs of crackers, and an assortment of jellies/jam.The only positive thing i can say about the hotel might be that the receptionist was rather nice when we got here.: Did I mention that it is fair from EVERY main attraction in Rome?In conclusion, PLEASE DON'T STAY HERE.Especially not for their crazy prices.You're better off in an 8 bed hostal than in this rubbish hotel.

Rather two stars than four
This hotel has seen better days. The rooms need an upgrade and refreshment. The carpets were very dirty, the toilet seat was damaged and the flushing mechanism got stuck.The hotel just has a service desk and a breakfast room, no more rooms to sit down and talk/relax.On the positive side: the staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet was quite OK. The beds were quite good and our room was silent from the traffic.The location is a bit off the main tourist area, even though there are buses nearby.In summary: we have stayed at two star hotels thoughout Europe with higher standard than this!
