Surprising in many ways......
A small group of us stayed here for a couple of nights while in town on business. The welcome was friendly from the owners and the locals who were in having a pint seemed friendly too. The rooms are probably best described as reflective of the price, being something of a hotch potch with tiny pre-fabricated en-suite facilities. To be fair, all of it was clean, the rooms had decent televisions and it was possible to get a decent night's sleep. Breakfast was a slightly bizarre affair, with a full English being delivered to the table without being requested! That said, they were most accomodating when one of our party pointed out that he was vegetarian and nothing was too much trouble. The real surprise came when it came to us eating in the hotel one evening. Based on breafast, we expected to receive good solid wholesome food that would perhaps not be anything special. However, the food was actually superb - really good quality, well cooked and well presented. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the protions were good, too. In spite of the slightly tired rooms, I'd happily stay again.

Good value for one night only
Stayed for one night the room was clean and overlooked the lake, staff was friendly and nice and it is family run. A busy pub below the rooms so you need to make sure if there is a function if you need a good nights sleep as you may not get. Breakfast was fab! Good location for beach.

My experience at the Nelson Hotel Pub and Restaurant
My wife and I have visited the Nelson Pub and Hotel on several occassions and on each and every occassion as soon as we walk through the door we have been warmly welcomed by the brothers who run this establishment. We have eaten here also on a number of occassions and the tables are always clean and laid out nicely. The varied menu has something for everyone to choose from and the presentation of the food is excellent. I would highly recommend visiting the Nelson Hotel Pub and Restaurant, whether it is for a drink, a meal or to play pool or maybe all three you certainly won't be dissapointed.

Christmas Dinner @ The Nelson Hotel Littlehampton
I have just returned from a Christmas Dinner at the Nelson Hotel in Littlehampton I can sum this up in three words Fab u lus the service was out standing ,the food was excellent ,very large portions & the drinks were reasonable priced a good time was had by all well done the Nelson hotel .
