Over the years, I have become quite a seasoned traveller, either lone- or with my daughter and have stayed in a variety of guest houses or hotels, at home and abroad.I was looking for a peaceful and relaxing break, as I had experienced a rocky couple of months,having not long been made redundant. Upon arrival at the guest house, I did not receive quite the warm welcome from the male proprietor that I had experienced at other places. I had also parked my car in an "incorrect place" and was grumpily requested to move it a few yards. A couple of hours later, upon leaving the premises, I observed a completely different welcome towards an elderly couple. Much more friendly and helpful.Whilst the guest house was very nice and comfortable, I noticed the distinct smell of the owner's dogs, as I mounted the stairs to my room. A minor detail, but could be offputting to some. The room itself, however, was extremely comfortable and well furnished and could not be faulted.Breakfast was served by the lady proprietor, the next morning and her manner was in complete contrast to that of her husband. Warm, helpful and informative. I was a little nervous of mentioning the shower in my room, which was very temperamental, but I managed to catch her as she was cleaning my room and I cheered up after our chatty conversation. Unfortunately, though, the break had been a little "killed" for me at the start.I don't think, therefore, that I shall be returning there, despite the affordable and good value accommodation.

We booked this hotel to attend a very special day in the family, unfortunately we were late for check in - although I did phone and apologise that we were going to be late - the owner told me in no uncertain manner we were too late, he was going out and he didn't have time to wait!! we were left at night 200 miles from home with nowhere to stay. Beware if you book this hotel as if you pass the check-in time you will have nowhere to stay.

We stayed at Field House whilst visiting family in Bognor Regis, my daughter is vegetarian and they went out of their way to provide veggie sausage and hash browns for her. Their bacon and sausage were from the local farm.The rooms were quaint, themed on sea -side chalets, loads of coffee and tea in the rooms and fabulous biscuits.Also they allowed you to have a take-away on the premises.Very friendly and helpful owners.and good valve for money.

Stayed here for a couple of nights whilst visiting Brighton.Our room was interesting as it was themed on a seaside chalet. Very comfortable bed and a nice room with all the amenities you would expect. Wifi is free and tea and coffee plus lovely biscuits in the room. Tne breakfast was fine and a choice of items was available. The people who owned the property were very friendly. I would stay here again if I was in the area.

Just got back from Field Place with our very good friends, having booked in November last year to stay for our weekend at The Goodwood Festival. A what a lovely place to stay, Shirley and her husband made us feel very welcome and we had two lovely bedrooms, ours had a huge 6ft bed which was very, very comfortable (I suffer with back problems) our friends had a equally comfortable king size bed. The rooms were very well equipped with everything we needed including a lovely gift of chocolates.Tea and coffee making facilities and bottled water were also provided. But best of all was our lovely breakfast in the morning with big pots of fresh tea or coffee, freshly cooked breakfast to order and toast, with fresh fruit, fruit juice, yogurts and cereals to start. We would certainly recommend Field Place to stay and hope to return in the not too distant future.
