Friendly & helpful but watch out for the noisy street facing rooms
The staff were friendly, professional and helpful. The location is hard to beat but beware of rooms facing the street! We were on the 6th floor & even in late winter/early spring the room was hot enough during the night that we had to have a fan (thoughtfully provided, along with earplugs) on all night. We tried opening the window but the noise from the street below defeated us (hence the earplugs). I'd stay there again happily....as long as I had a room NOT facing the street.

A delightful stay !
The excellent location, the quality of the rooms and most of all the friendliness of the staff makes this hotel a sure and perfect choice. I've stayed a couple of times, and so have many friends, at this hotel and I can easly recommend it.

Excellent Hotel, both in terms of service and quality as well as location
I thoroughly enjoyed staying here and I have already recommended it to friends. I'm hoping to come back to Amsterdam in the Autumn for a weekend break rather than business and I'd be looking to stay here again. The service was excellent, staff were very friendly, breakfast was great and plenty of it and the rooms were luxurious. The location is also perfect, right around the corner from the restaurants, bars and clubs on Rembrandtsplein.

Excellent all round!
The Albus exceeded my expectations. It was much more central than I had anticipated, which was great and although situated in a lively, vibrant area, inside the hotel is calm, sophisticated and restful. The beds are extremely comfortable. I was impressed to have a robe provided for my stay and the shower was a joy to use. The coffee machine was easy to use and the coffee delicious. When I saw that complementary earplugs were provided, I thought that the noise may be a problem! But in fact, most of the noise was the atmospheric ting ting of the trams, and the musical clarion of the bells from the nearby Munttor. All wonderful. I will definitely be back, and be recommending the Albus to all my friends. Thank you for a great experience.

Comfortable stay in a central location
I stayed here for a few nights in April. It was easy to find; 2 or 3 stops on the tram from Amsterdam Centraal, then a short walk. I had a room facing away from the street and it was quiet other than a neighboring guest one night. My computer had no problem with connecting to the wireless internet in the room. The room was a bit cramped but comfortable, and a larger bathroom relative to the room. Loved the nespresso machine in the mornings. The hotel staff had great recommendations for nearby dining, and it was easy to walk to restaurants and museums. The breakfast was ok; a bit pricey given the selection, but staff were attentive. There is a nice tiny bar in the lobby; perfect for a drink at the end of the day, before or after dinner.
