A Lovely Stay
My Wife and i stayed here over the Bank Holiday weekend. We booked on Wednesday evening to arrive late on Friday. Heidi and Chris were very accommodating and found a room for us. They made excellent and easy communication by phone and email. We booked the Penrose as friends were staying there and the reviews were good.We were not disappointed. Their welcome was really lovely, almost like long lost friends. The house is large and has some lovely features. We had room 2, first floor, with en-suite shower room. Everything had been thought of, there was even a corkscrew in the room. Sage advice on local pubs was well received.Breakfast - well, there was a great range but I did have the Full English for three days. Oops! watch your waistline.The bed was very comfortable, there was a comfy chair, a TV, radio alarm, hairdryer, kettle and a range of drinks.Parking the car was fun.Heidi and Chris, thank you.

Very good b&b in fact a small hotel
We stayed there for two nights in the beginning of may, 2013. The house is beautiful, big, nice. Chris & Heidi are kind. For my opinion they are very professional, but we didn't feel as in b&b, more like in a small hotel. Everything is planned, we had to define our time of breakfast immediately. No welcome cream tea, as we were used to. To be honest, we could change the time of breakfast later, but I don't like when I'm pushed. We stayed in the smallest room, which is a great value. There is really nothing to complain in this b&b, but...Nata¿¿a&Stojan

Lovely B&B with wonderful hosts
Lovely character property. We were in the attic room, which was perfect. Hosts Chris and Heidi were outstanding - nothing was too much trouble and they went way beyond expectations in helping us settle in. Breakfast was good with local produce and plenty to choose from, though my Other Half thought the coffee could be better. Overall I would highly recommend and would stay there again myself.

Fantastic
This is a superb B&B. Beautiful house and great hosts. I had the standard room and it was perfect. They have thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I'll definitely be returning.

A warm friendly welcome to 5* service
This was our second visit to the Penrose in 2 years.....Heidi & Chris are the perfect hosts, you are immediately greeted like a long lost family member....Rooms are more like 5* hotel rooms than your regular B&B....spotless & with high quality toiletries, warm comfortable rooms with a certain charm.Breakfast is cooked by Heidi, fresh every morning with locally sourced ingredients....a full English certainly set us up for the day ahead.Well behaved dogs are made welcome, although we would never have known that there had ever been a dog anywhere near, no sounds of dogs barking or a single dog hair in sights (even though we know that there was at least one dog staying during our visit)The family friend attitude is carried on throughout your stay .... Heidi & Chris cannot do enough to help & make your visit perfect .......To make things perfect for cat lovers like us....there is also the delightful B&B cat FloJo to keep you company (if you want her to) .. but those not keen on cats, never fear as if you don't want her about Heidi & Chris keep her well away :-)Location wise you are close to St Austell, Bodmin, Fowey & Mevagissey but the entire South & North coasts are no more than an hour away .... The Eden Project is about 15 minutes & Lanhydrock House about 10 minutes
