Overall, hotels in downtown LA aren't that great. The Omni is pretty decent. Comfortable rooms, clean property, reasonable rates. The caf¿¿ isn't exactly gourmet, but from the hotel you can walk to many good restaurants. Nothing to rave about, but consistent throughout the 20 years I've visited it.

This hotel is located in Down Town. A nice room with everything you need to (bathrobe, slippers, ironing board). Very comfortable bed. There are the good restaurants are a great place to have breakfast or dinner (Grand Cafe, Noe).

This was an unexpected surprise as my Omni experience elsewhere hasn't been great. The staff was excellent, the rooms very clean and well maintained and best of all quiet. I was in a completely full hotel due to a large conference and my room was on a low level facing the street but I never heard other people or traffic which indicates that the rooms are well insulated.I ate in teh restaurant every day and never tired of it for breakfast or lunch. The bar was comfortable, well maintained and relaxed (I's suggest that they may want to freshen up the piano music..Gershwyn is okay but Broadway tunes? Maybe Billy Joel, Elton John, The WHO but that stuff playing now is really depressing and better suited for the over 70 guests).This hotel is within walking distance of plenty of bars and restaurants and thanks to the Omni I experienced the downtown LA area, something I've never done in 30+ years of travel in LA.I'll stay here again when in downtown LA and look forward to doing so.

A spontaneous urge to get some city vibes, see some good art, spoil each other and be spoiledmade us check the L.A. Downtown hotel opportunities and the deal and location Omni offered appealed the most to us. Arriving in the afternoon staff at the reception was friendly, just needed to be reminded to hand us the package included coupons for the breakfast buffet. We got settled in our room, which to our delight offered a view on the MOCA, the Walt Disney Concert Hall and the construction site of the new Eli and Edith Broad Museum. The spacious room, updated traditionally styled, was clean and fulfilled our expectations of comfort and functionality, just the outside of the window had not been cleaned for a while. Bathroom and amenities lived up to the expectations.We took a long stroll through the neighborhood, which is really quiet on the weekend and let's you enjoy the sights and architectural highlights without too much street noise. Convenient stores, bars, clubs, cafes, restaurants everything is in walking distance, easily to be reached oncomfortable sidewalks. If you extend your 1 mile walk radius to the West you are in Little Tokyo, and to the South you'll be in the Fashion District. We loved to experience the diversity of architectural styles offering a mixture from the 40-s to present. We had dinner at Sugarfish, a good Sushi restaurant on Grant and 7th, before we walked back to the hotel to enjoy coffee and dessert. Decor, lighting and ambience of the bar / Noe restaurant are intimate and cozy, the staff very friendly and helpful. Sunday morning we had our breakfast in the Grand Cafe, choosing from the buffet, which left no wishes open and a very attentive crew assisted with omelette, coffee and juice.We truly enjoyed our stay.

Yes a little quiet at the weekend at the hotel, but what's wrong with that ? 5 star accommodation, excellent and friendly service, good sized and very comfortable rooms, for around $ 200 per night for a king size room. Certainly attractive pricing in relation to many other hotels in the same bracket. Downtown restaurant scene surprisingly good for at the weekend here as well. Valet parking at around $ 30 for the.weekend seemed reasonable value as well. Will stay here again when back in LA.
