This was the first time we had stayed in Lynmouth and we were originally going to stay bed & breakfast but as Lorna Doone house offered a good deal on half board if you stayed 4 nights we decided to go for that option . We are so glad we did as the evening meal choice was excellent and Neil (who is a chef) produced delightful food of the highest quality some of his sauces were mouth watering and complimented the meal brilliantly. The vegetable choice to was excellent with it varying every night & piping hot when it arrived. Also the breakfast were great every one freshly cooked and varied to include smoked haddock if you ordered the day before. Also Sharon was a brilliant host and nothing was ever to much trouble , one night we asked if she had any cider and she had cans which she iced & put in two glasses and served it with some peanuts, a very nice touch. Also if you like Agatha Christies Poirot then they have the full collection on DVD which you can borrow and play on the TV in your room . The room we were in had a Queen Size bed and a bath & shower and was very comfortable . But the highlight for me were the excellent service & the Food , thanks to Sharon & Niel.

We spent three delightful days at Lorna Doone House. Sharon and Neil could not have been more welcoming. Standards throughout are extremely high. We booked an evening meal on the day of arrival from the point of view of convenience but the menu and cuisine were so superb that we ate there very evening. Lynmouth is an excellent place to visit with many places to visit an things to do.

Once more we visited Lorna Doone House. We have stayed here many times since Sharon and Neil took it over, and not once has the standard slipped. This long weekend that we stayed, weather wise, was bitterly cold but dry, but that didn't matter as the welcome we received was, as always, warm and friendly.The rooms are well appointed and as it was so cold outside it was lovely to return to a cosy warm room and make a hot drink and have a biscuit, before getting ready to go down for dinner.The menu changes daily with a good choice of meals and there is a 'being spoilt for choice' wine list.We have booked again for another holiday in August.If you decide to go to Lynmouth for a holiday then book your accomodation at the Lorna Doone.The only disappointment you will have is if no room is available.The Lorna Doone is so popularI would advise you to book early.

Lynmouth is a delightful village and this is the place to rest and recover - especially if you are doing the coastal path. I have nothing but praise for this place. My friend and I had a single room each - actually mine was a double four poster bedded room; better than the one I stayed in for my honeymoon.We stayed two days - separated by two days of walking around the coastal path. Our hosts were so accommodating and the value for money excellent. We ate evening meals in the Village but had two wholesome breakfasts at Lorna Doone.Our thanks for a great stay.NB - do not confuse with a similar named establishment in Porlock.

Well this was our 4th visit. End of November 2012.To be honest the quality of this Bed and Breakfast cannot be beaten in our opinion. We stayed for three nights and had dinner each night the food is fantastic with a very good choice. Sharron and Neil constantly achieve a higher standard than the very high standard they have set for themselves. Great hosts, great rooms, great food, great value and a great location. We just know that we will return sometime next year. Thx to you both. Chris and Martin x
