Just stayed for one evening. I did not eat at restaurant nor had a drink at the bar. It really was just a bed for the night.Check in and check out was good. My only critique re the process was that I was not able to pay with my Canadian bank debit card. I had to use my credit card. Not a big deal - but I can use my debit card in numerous corner store / mini marts all through Europe, Australia and often in many Caribbean retail outlets. What's with that?Bed & pillows were very comfortable. Room furnishings & carpet and bathroom a little dated, from what I come to expect from a Holiday Inn.For the $160 price, one might consider staying at The Comfort Suites downtown as it's closer to bar/social options.That said, I was visiting The Anchor Bar so it was perfect for that - just a 5 min walk.

Convenient, free parking, but outdated
We stayed here as it was convenient to walk downtown and had free parking. The front desk staff was pleasant and lobby was OK. Room was very small and the bathroom even smaller. Unfortunately we were near the elevator and the housekeeping closet, so at 8:30 AM the staff were in the hall making a great deal of noise while they prepared for their day. Carpets need replacing and the bathroom could have been cleaner. On the plus side, comfortable clean bed and the window opened, which was good because the heater can't be adjusted (we heard other guests complaining about this as well). The price was right so I'd stay again only for the convenience.

Overall good but housekeeping brings it down
Checked in March 29,2013.Front desk w/ a smile,-check in & out are fast & easy.Room is nice & cozy.I like the feel of firm bedDownside:Bathroom floor has brownish spots.I dislike the housekeeping employee who knocked our door around 8:30 am asking if she can clean the room.why the rush in doing her job?? & disturbing us unnecessarily?isnt it that check outs are earlier so that they can do their job before the next check in time comes? I just hope the Manager addresses & acts about this.

Decent Hotel right off Downtown
Stayed here because it was within walking distance of a venue we were going to that evening. Staff was extremely friendly. Issue with the TV reception though. Not all the stations came in so that was rather annoying. Room was clean and had a great view. Someone had obviously smoked a cigar in there the day before though. Not the hotel's fault but still not cool. Bed was great as usual. Agree with many other reviewer that this is an average hotel. Best thing going for it is it's location. Decent hotel but not up to the standard I expect staying in many other HI and HIE properties.

Average Holiday Inn
Average but good stay with a friendly personality, in a smaller older building. Room also on the small side but clean. Restaurant serves surprisingly good food at responsible prices. Always a pleasant smile from each staff member. Safe and consistent. I would stay again
