Great hospitality and a fantastic little hotel!
I stayed here for only one night on Saturday/Sunday in late April with Phoebe my Jack Russell. We were welcomed by Matthew to the hotel, who in turn introduced us to Thom who adores animals! We were advised on hotel bar and breakfast times and shown to our room by Matthew. The room was very welcoming with its own en suite, flat screen TV, tea & coffee making facilities and even a iPod/ iPhone docking station! The welcoming book in the room was full of good information about local restaurants and useful telephone numbers like taxis should you need them. The views were over the beautiful garden full of daffodils and tulips and the bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept in! There's plenty of cupboard and drawer space to if you're staying for more than a few days! With easy access to both the main town and beaches (both only a five minute walk away), I strongly recommend staying at The Yenton as good value for your money and the perfect place to stay in Bournemouth if you're holidaying with your pet. Thanks for your hospitality Matthew and Thom, both Phoebe and I will most definitely be seeing you again soon!

Two nights at The Yenton
Just returned from 2 lovely nights at The Yenton with another couple - we booked through a voucher company and found it great value for money. We upgraded to the Garden Room which had views of their beautiful garden. Matt and Thom were very friendly and helpful even advising on a nice restaurant or two !!Breakfast was lovely - freshly good and plenty of good quality food, There was a wedding on the Saturday but that didn't affect our stay in any way.As previous reviewers have said very close to the beach and only 10-15 minutes walk to some lovely restaurants.Yes - we would return - hopefully with better weather next time !!

Good value for a basic weekend
Weekend booked with a voucher so we knew not to expect too much. This was a little dated & any of the negative points could not have been resolved for us (having had a conversation with Matt about people leaving negative views). We were made to feel very welcome & the bed was REALLY comfy. Breakfast was delicious (didnt realise it finished at 9.30 so missed day 1, shame as only 2 other tables eating & was told it had finished 15 minutes earlier, wouldn't have been too much effort to knock up an egg). I wish the weather had been good enough to sit outside as the garden is beautiful. Thankfully umbrellas were available to borrow - a nice touch. The bedrooms were adequate, our tea tray wasnt replenished so no drinks on morning 2 (didnt look in the box until the morning so too late to do anything about that), the shower was dreadful but being such an old building I assume thats the pressure, really could do with revamping though as just about warm enough but barely any water jets, made for a chilly start to the day. Good location, only round the corner from a sea view & 10 minute brisk walk into town.

Fantastic Venue for a Wedding
Along with lots of other family and friends (many of whom have already put their comments on TripAdvisor) we made our way to the Yenton in Bournemouth for our "Adoring Nephew and his Better Half's" wedding. The weather was freezing which was disappointing as we didn't get to see much of Bournemouth, but it did give us the opportunity to size up this B abs B (confusingly called a hotel). On arriving Matt was a little stressed as he showed us to the Garden room, which was understandable, with all the preparations underway, for a wedding which I suspect had become larger than envisaged at planning stage. However, our room although not overly large, was cosy, with a long thin en-suite shower room sporting a small walk-in drench shower. Fine, but the glass panel protecting the rest of the room was not very big and my immediate reaction was "Oh no, I'm going to flood the bathroom again!!" By which you might guess I have previous. I needn't have worried, when I used the shower, although adequate for hair-washing, it wasn't all that forceful. The bed was very comfortable - the best of 5 we had slept in during the past week. Tea, coffee, milk and biscuits were provided but only enough for one cup each. The room was cold when we arrived, but we were pleasantly surprised when coming back from dinner to find the radiator working and the room warm. The heating stayed on for the rest of our stay! The room had newly installed double doors leading out to a delightful garden with lots of spring flowers and a summerhouse - they hold weddings out here when the weather permits. It would have been lovely to sit out there soaking up the sun and reading a book. This guest house doesn't usually do evening meals, but made a special exception for the those of the wedding party arriving early - about 18 of us. Although very basic - main course only - it was very tasty.Breakfast in the morning was a rather stressful affair, with only one person taking orders, serving breakfasts and coffees and clearing tables. By the time we arrived down, some cereals were in short supply, orange juice was all used and we sneakily helped ourselves, and other guests, to a cup of coffee. All requests were met and foods and drinks replenished by a tireless waiter who kept apologising with a smile. He did very well, but hopefully there would be more staff tomorrow with lots of the wedding guests staying. The wedding could not have been better. The room and tables were set up beautifully with lots of fantastic floral arrangements and thoughtful extras. There might have been a problem when one of the guests wanted to take her dog into the service but was told that the Registrar would not marry the couple if that happened. This was well sorted with some gentle persuasion by Matt. The wedding breakfast was perfectly cooked and well presented offering both a meat and vegetarian option. The serving staff all wore smart uniforms and worked well together to get hot plates and food to the tables even though they had to climb over children and their toys. Following an energetic evening at the disco and a good night's rest, we arrived at breakfast to find only one waiter on duty again with similar problems to yesterday. To be fair at least one, maybe two, had not turned up for work. But the quality of the food was still excellent, and it arrived hot at the table. We enjoyed the rest of the weekend with the bridal pair and lots of other family and friends. We explored other rooms, many of which seemed a little tired, but Matt and Thom are apparently dealing with this. The new "Honeymoon Suite" is enormous and needs softening with a few pictures and nic-nacks - to make it more appealing. The old "Honeymoon Suite" was a homage to modern-day Victoriana which I personally loved. The evening meal was delicious and huge thanks go to Matt and Thom and their chef for doing this, even though they had had another wedding reception during the afternoon.Matt and Thom were lovely

Excellent value for money!
I stayed 3 nights in a single en suite room which although advertised as not yet refurbished was really lovely. Comfy bed, very clean room and bathroom and even the heater was turned on ready for my arrival. No shower but the bath was great and I had a really good stay. Delicious bacon and tomato on toast and copious tea for just ¿¿4.95 and the full breakfasts looked great. Well worth a visit and with very nice staff too - what more could you want when paying less than ¿¿95 for three nights. Well done and thank you, Yenton!
