Stayed for 2 nights in March, had a huge room with 3 comfortable beds. The room was well decorated & the bathroom was clean with a nice hot shower.The owners were very friendly & helpful & we enjoyed a large & tasty breakfast each morning. The hotel was in a prime location right on the front & whilst the trade off was no car park there was free on street parking a short walk away. Some of the comments on here do seem to be of somewhere else; We certainky felt there was money being spent on maintaining the hotel, the impressive breakfast room (with sea view) looked like it had just been decorated & our family room was clean & neat. A cuple of the corridors did look like they needed a bit of a refresh but that caused us no concern. We would be happy to stay here again.

Prior to our caravan holiday we stayed for 2 nights at the Sherbourne Hotel. Caroline & Phil were excellent hosts although we did not meet Phil until he was allowed up from kitchen on Monday. Some reviews were awful one even said it was like a hostel (what gets these people off i wonder). Our room was comfortable and clean,tv worked,plenty of towels and tea & coffee.Breakfast was taken with a stunning view over Weymouth Bay and was more than adequate and left us satisfied until late afternoon, even if we had to seat ourselves pour our own drinks AND butter our own toast. (In joke).Great stay and we will Be Back...

The Sherborne hotel room, whilst listed as a 'double with en-suite' actually consisted of a tiny room, with a very small window and a double bed. There was a small adjoining space consisting of a toilet and under powered shower, the sink was actually next to the bed and the taps were loose and faulty. There were two unclean 'plastic' glasses on the sink, and the general upkeep of the room was very poor (cracked ceilings, torn carpet, broken chest of drawers). Had to park in a street 10 minutes away and was lucky finding that space. The hosts seemed friendly, they just don't invest in their hotel. Cost ¿¿110 for the night during Olympic week.

Having read previous reviews I took a gamble on the Sherborne as I was unable to find any other reasonably priced hotels or B&B¿¿¿s in Weymouth during the Olympic sailing event. As other reviewers have commented this is a basic hotel but just about adequate if you¿¿¿re not fussy about frills and are not planning to spend long in your room. The location on the Esplanade across the road from the beach is excellent. It is close to the town centre amenities and around the corner from the train station. Our twin room was just about big enough. However, the wall next to one of our beds had torn wallpaper and crumbling plaster. We found a pair of old pants under the other bed(!) There was a tiny TV that we didn¿¿¿t use and an en-suite bathroom that featured an annoyingly loud water pump. It made a dreadful noise every time you used any water. The shower was ok although the hot water took a long time to come through. As the previous reviewer mentioned the only toiletries provided are a travel size bar of soap ¿¿¿ to share ¿¿¿ so be sure to pack your own. The beds were comfortable.Breakfast was surprisingly good with cereals and grapefruit, unlimited toast and tea & coffee plus a decent full English or other cooked option such as beans or egg on toast or a bacon bap if you preferred. The service was fine. The dining room overlooks the beach which is rather pleasant. Breakfast is only served between 8:30 & 9 so you need to be prompt to ensure you get fed.If you¿¿¿re after a relatively cheap, well-located hotel in Weymouth with a few ¿¿¿quirks¿¿¿ then the Sherborne may suit you.

You get what you pay for, and the price was good. Great location right on the sea front, unfortunately our room did'nt have a sea view, but the room was clean if not basic and a little on the small side for a twin bedded room. Breakfast was also above average if not a little time restricted 8.30 -9.00. No parking was a dissapointment and also no shower gel just one tiny barof soap for two of us, also we could not get our tv to work. Overall though our two night stay wasfine but by adding just a few extras The Sherborne could be a very good hotel.
