We stayed at The Resting Post a couple of weekends ago and had a giant double bed (6ft +). The room was lovely with tea and coffee facility in the room and all the bits for the bathroom etc. The lady running it was very friendly and had good knowledge of the local area (we were on a walking holiday on our own) and cooked us an excellent breakfast both mornings. There were 2 pubs within walking distance for evening meals and we could have brought a takeaway in and eaten it in the dining area in the evening. We had a very relaxing weekend and would recommend this B & B to anyone who wishes to stay in the area.

I booked The Resting Post through late rooms at 5pm but unfortunately by 6pm we got hit by very bad weather and monstrous traffic jam making our journey impossible, I knew that we had already paid for this via late rooms but out of courtesy I emailed straight away to say I would not be making it due to the unfortunate circumstances above - I received no reply. The next morning I got a call from Late Rooms saying that I needed to call The Resting Post. After calling and explaining who I was the owner aggressively ranted at me that I needed to give her my security code from my bank card as she couldn¿¿¿t process the payment. I apologised and explained that I thought I had pre-paid and proceeded to give her my details. Her aggressive, frosty nature continued throughout the call and I was very pleased circumstances hadn¿¿¿t allowed me to stay-from my experience this is not a friendly establishment.

Firstly the address with the words 'High Street' doesn't say much but the street is in a small village off the beaten track, if one car an hour passes through there you'd be unlucky.There are only three rooms but the one we had was simply furnished but had everything for an overnight stay. it also had the small things like a kettle, tea coffee etc, but also cotton buds, shower gel in a bottle instead of a sachet..... it made a difference. It was very quiet despite the church bell sounding, just keep the window shut (we stayed out the back) the bed was small (4'6") but i slept like a baby.Breakfast, (included) was superb poached eggs, bacon, mushrooms, sausage etc etc cereal toast and coffee!Overall a perfect place for a walking weekend and equidistant from Bath and Salisbury.
