Very clean room bed very comfortable and it was nice to have a seperate area with a settee and coffee table rather than having to sit on the bed. Great to have wifi and a tv. Nice decor although a bit fussy, lovely breakfast - easy to get into the town. Great overall would recommend

You'll be fine here
The plethora of nic-nacs, cushions and sugary pictures was not really a great distraction from what actually was a very good B&B. With 5 bedrooms (I think), it was clean, meticulously decorated, pleasantly run and convenient. The house is on one of the main roads out of Durham, but even with a room at the front, it could not be classed as noisy. The parking is located at the back of the pub next door, but do not be put off by an off-licence so close - this did not seem to create any problems. The breakfast was good and the owner was welcoming and helpful. The price was very reasonable.The fripperies that adorned the surfaces and the walls were a bit over done and rather inhibited where one could put such things as bags, books and other personal items, but presumably this was the owners taste and it did not detract from what was a very pleasant B&B. I would recommend this place to anybody.

Very small and cosy hotel family owned. Friendly atmosphere, excellent breakfast, nice and elegant room interior. Perfect location for access to main roads and public transportation. Quiet area for night rest

Hospitality par excellence
Mother and I stayed here in a twin room in January. It was a very comfortable, large and clean room. We both very much enjoyed our breakfasts and the little culinary extras which were routinely left for us, including tea on our arrival. Although the B&B is located a few miles out of Durham city centre and we did not have a car, it was very easy to get into town through the regular bus service. What impressed me most, as in the other B&Bs we stayed at on this trip, was the truly extraordinary degree of hospitality, kindness and service. Debbie and Martin repeatedly went well beyond what was reasonable in offers of rides, laundry, and so forth. They were truly exemplary hosts and I would recommend their bed and breakfast warmly and sincerely to anyone.

One very satisfied couple
We had spent a very enjoyable day at Sedgefield Races & this Hotel allowed us an extremely relaxing & quiet nights sleep.
