I spent two nights here and really enjoyed my time here. Rooms beautifully decorated and spotless. The mini fridge was great and so nice to have fruit juice and fresh milk (soya in my case!). Loved the story behind each rooms name. Breakfast really good huge selection and good quality. Owners really friendly and kind. Slightly out of main town but five minutes drive only. Well worth the stay.

I must say that i stayed at the Minstrel's Rest for two weeks on a work stay, from the word go the owners were brilliant, showing me my room, which had loads of tea, coffee, fruit tea and hot Choc... A mini fridge with water, orange and apple juice and proper milk!! The beds are soft and comfy, I had a spa bath which worked just lovely, the television has lots to offer and even have the option of watching sky downstairs.The breakfast in the morning was great with a massive selection of sausages and jam for your toast which is made on site using fruits from the garden.I would stay here again any day of the week, book it now!!

My husband and I are just back from a weekend down in the Battle and Hastings area, staying overnight in the 4-poster room at Minstrel's Rest. So many positive things to mention:- welcoming, friendly hosts who gave us all the area info we wanted;- spotless, brilliantly decorated home with the medieval theme carried throughout, down to the smallest details;- fabulous homemade bathroom miniatures (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and soap) as well as cottom buds, cotton pads, tissues, toothpaste and shower cap - really, what else could you need?;- brilliant jet shower;- yummy minstrels (our favourite chocolate snack);- mini fridge with complimentary water, juice and fresh milk;- a wide variety of hot drinks to make (coffee, regular tea, fruit teas and hot chocolate);- fab hairdryer AND straigteners (a first for us);- lovely soft towels and robes;- great, soft linen and lots of pillows;- brilliant breakfast; and- easy parking!Can't recommend this place highly enough!!

Located in a residential area, it is not walking distance from anywhere. Anyways, a car would be essential to visit this part of the country, especially as you can sample all the charms of Hastings in 2-3 hours. We made Hastings our base for a Bank Holiday weekend - spent Saturday afternoon walking on the seafront and Sunday driving up to Canterbury before leaving for home Monday late morning.The property is very well maintained and our room had a very comfortable bed, and a roll top bath ensuite. Free wifi helped, and the breakfast was lavish. The medieval theme around the house was very charming indeed.The owners were very helpful and eager to please.Street parking is required - its free, and we always found an empty slot very close by during our stay.If only this b&b could be transplanted to Hastings Old Town, it would have been perfect! But no complaints. Well worth a repeat visit.

stayed here for a couple of nights clean and comfortable room a little small but they have bigger ones breakfast was great nice people run it nice medeival theme great value would stay again old town hastings just down the road and it was pirate week great fun
