'tired' ex Hilton but overall good
The hotel has seen better days as a Hilton and is now a Best Western.The worst that can be said is that it is a bit tired in places and could do with some money spent on it.That said, the room (ours faced the sea and had a 'sort of' balcony), were clean and comfortable.We were on a 3 night Bed breakfast and eve meal deal,.. the food was excellent for the money and served with a smile.Breakfast is a hot buffet style and couldn't be faulted.A big bonus is the parking and leisure centre.... the casino is great if you don't mind saying goodbye to a few quid!!Overall the staff were great, with the exception of reception...Don't expect them to smile a lot or, answer the phone.Don't expect them to phone you back when you do get through and ask a question (3 times!!!)Don't expect them to get your bill correctAnd...don't expect an apology when they find the have added a couple of other peoples bar tabs to your bill!!Anyway...rant over, on balance, I would recommend the hotel!

overall very good
We stayed for 3 days, we had read the reviews and were a bit worried about what the hotelwould be like. The staff were very helpful and Marcus out of the restaurant went out of his wayto make sure we got a table by the window at meal times.The food was lovely and presented very well The pool was very clean and great after walking all day.The bed was comfortable. We didn't go to the casino. Overall we were very happy with our stay.

Good Value
Considering I paid ¿¿75 per night (inc breakfast), the room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good with a wide selection of the usual traditional 'Full English' as well as fresh fruit etc.Staff are friendly and helpful.The negatives are that the building and decor is dated and in desperate need of a re-furb.

Great breakfast, great sea view, pays your money, takes your choice...
A shabby looking place in financial difficulties (according to the local paper when I was there, now being propped up by the local govt) but honest, clean and does what it say on the tin. Great value for money, even better breakfast, natty little gym with cardio room, weights room and pool. But looks like a Butlins and once inside it all gets better. Very happy with my stay. Casino cool as well. Made to feel welcome.

Pretty Basic, Good Location
Have stayed here a few times and although its pretty basic it is a great location for Douglas. The buffet breakfast is great and the food portions are massive which is good. Drinks are reasonably priced in the and the staff are friendly and helpful.The hotel itself could do with a bit of a refurb as its looking a bit tired and the beds were not the most comfortable but if you just want a base for exploring the island then this is ideal.There is a nightclub in the basement however it doesn't get busy at all as far as i've seen and when we were there over easter 2013 it actually closed at 11pm
