Consistent inconsistances
We have been to the Westin many times and I can say they are consistent. Their customer service is good and the rooms are clean. Complimentary soapreplenished each day is consistently inconsistent. Each time we requested complimentary robes. It always came with one belt for two robes. We never saw an extra belt when we called. We found this humorous. Not sure why they would be consistent with this?The level of customer service has been consistent and raising the bar will not happen anytime soon. Because, this is a conference/business hotel and most customers are looking for a place to sleep and eat and are not concerned with level of service unless it drops below the sweet spot of averages. We on the other hand are vacation travelers and expect a higher level of consistence from a Westin hotel. If they did not have the Daily Grill we would stay at one of the competitors. They consistently provide continental breakfast and evening bites for SPG members. (or included with the room reservation) Platinum members will never see the inside of a suits. Do not expect any extras or recognition, if you are celebrating a birthday or anniversary, this has been consistent for years.The valet service was consistently great, They do not hesitate to bring your car around. Your car will be in front and ready, if you call before you leave the room. This is a great service. Giving a TIP can be perplexing since they charge $35 for valet and $25 for self parking.The Daily Grill is a great place to eat. Service is great for the most part. I would recommend happy hours at the bar.

FINE FOR A STOP OVER
I spent a night in transit from Sydney to JFK and it was fine for the purpose. The staff were efficient and the room was adequate and clean. I must say the bed was really really comfortable. After my 15 hour flight - plus 2 hour drive to airport and 3 hours at airport - I really needed a comfortable bed. King bed with great cotton sheets and loads of comfy pillows.The bathroom was a bit small and not many amenities, but OK for the price.I dined at the Daily Grill and found it OK but quite expensive for what it was. I had a small bowl of gazpacho, followed by a special, which was 3 scallops and about 6 pieces of asparagus with a lemon sauce, plus 1 glass of house wine and a small bottle of mineral water and the bill, with tax and a small tip, was $70US! I thought this was expensive but there was nowhere else to go.

A GREAT property with 3rd World Internet
This is a follow up (2nd review) of this very nice property, but be prepared for a compromised in-room internet experience.It pains me to write this review because, truth is, I REALLY like this property and have stayed here dozens and dozens of times over the past 10 years. However, I noted that beginning with my last visit a month or so ago, and again this past Monday, the in room Internet service was entirely unacceptable and essentially non-functional. I was able to log on (painfully) with a terribly slow connection that booted me off time and again, and one of my other devices could not connect AT ALL. This is really quite a shame as otherwise this is a wonderful property, replete with a great restaurant, comfortable rooms and a very spacious and comfortable, inviting lobby. I'll return, but only once I confirm with management that they have resolved what I understand to be a "work in progress" relating to building out a better network for their guests .

Cost-effective, good location for sightseeing
We stayed at the Westin for 4 nights to visit LA. We drove there and back and never went to the airport. We decided to stay at the Westin because of its convenient location: it's close to most places in LA (about 15-20 minutes) but it's also close to all the beaches south of LA.Yes, it's an airport hotel so don't expect a large swimming pool or huge garden to walk around. But it's also a Westin, so you know what you're getting (comfortable bed, clean and somewhat modern room).I'd certainly stay there again on my next trip to LA considering it's considerably cheaper than most 4 star hotels within LA.

Great by the airport
Got a priceline deal for about a hundred last week - awesome for a quick 1 night stay after a long week before an early return flight back to the east coast. Very nicely appointed hotel, even if it is in the middle of nowhere (AKA LAX area). We had dinner downstairs in the Daily Grill, which turned out to have great food, even better service (super accommodating with changes and requests), and better yet offered 3 hrs free parking for dining. So I happily left a big tip before returning my rental car (which I had self parked in the garage and had thought I owed $18 for 2 hours of parking).
