We have just returned from a couple of nights in the Lakes staying at the Westbourne. It's a great B&B in a great location for Bowness with the added benefit of a decent sized area to park cars. We stayed in one of the larger rooms - 7 - it was beautiful really spacious with an enormous bed - had a great nights sleep! Very quiet too as it overlooks the back of the hotel. My only slight problem with the room was I thought the shower wasn't great -low water preasure? However, overall it was fantastic and it wasn't enough of an issue to put me off going back. The owners were great very friendly and the breakfast was superb. There is also a lovely lounge area and an honesty bar which is a lovely touch! Great B&B Highly recommended!

A small well run B&B, located in a lovely national park area of the UK.We chose this hotel based on good reviews and the number of parking spaces being roughly equal to the number of rooms, knowing that parking can generally be difficult in the Lake District.Our room was an annexe attached to the main building, and we were unaware of this having booked through a third party. However, the room was very clean with a modern bathroom suite, so we were quite happy with it. Breakfast was a typical English, with fresh fruit also available, a positive indication of a good hotel that some larger establishments "slip up" on.The boating pier at Bowness is a ten minute walk from the hotel, with several options for organised trips around the lake or self hire. Also close by is a choice of restaurants and cafes, with probably two of the restaurants offering reasonably priced fine dining.Walks into the hills that surround the lake will involve inclines, but the views are rewarding.Overall a well run hotel in a good location for touring one of the most delightful areas in Europe.

Pleasant owners, great lounge room. Great breakfast with lovely thick bacon and local sausage. Rooms were clean and the owners had a wealth of information available. Ample parking and a good location a few hundred metres up a hill from the lake. There is a nice look-out over the area just a few yards from the hotel.

Excellent find. Easy parking, great location, good breakfast (only place that got a fried egg right for me in our two week trip), comfortable room. Our ONLY critique would be the narrow window for breakfast...45 min. Will say that they said breakfast outside of that window was possible if necessary but hated to ask. Owners very nice. Would def stay there again,

I am a retired Int'l airline Captain and really appreciate a great place to stay. The rooms are very comfortable, I am 6'3". Andre and Sue the owners are very helpful and have great ideas for you to enjoy in the area. I went for one night and ended staying for four nights, I plan on making an annual trip Windermere and plan on staying with Andre and Sue.Ron Watson
