Orlando experience
Room with ants, burned light bulbs and disgusting shower mold. Other rooms looked much better, i got the worse of all. I will not be staying there again.

I reserved this room from an online source. I understand that I did not pay top dollar but when I asked to be upgraded to queen size beds instead of double beds, I was told it would cost me twice as much as I originally paid which was rediculous for just a little more room to sleep in. Then the ac was so loud we had to turn the tv volume up all the way just to hear it. Needless to say, it wasn't easy to sleep with the noisy AC. I didn't bother to ask for another room due to the attitude I received when I asked for queen size beds. The rooms were very basic. The floors were covered in tile instead of carpeting which made the noise level even worse. The room was relatively clean but that's about all I can brag about. I guess in the end, I got what I paid for but I expected a little better attitude from the front desk then I received. We kind of felt like red-headed step children.

Never again, but you get what you pay for
We came to stay here because it is pretty much situated on the front door of Universal Studios. We paid a ridiculously cheap rate for this room and now we know why. The beds felt like foam mattresses, you needed at least 2 pillows for it to feel like the size of one. The fridge did not work, the air conditioning did not work. The shower curtain was too short! resulting in the floor getting drenched when someone took a shower. There was a free shuttle to go to Universal Studios but it only left ONCE during the day and picked you up ONCE to get back to the motel. Not so convenient. Next time, I will spend the extra $50 and stay at the Marriott across the street.

Please stay away from this hotel
Pool was nothing like pictures show. The pool was supposed to be heated and wasn't . The pool did not look like it had been cleaned properly. I didn't even feel comfortable going swimming in it. The hotel room was horrible. The first room I went into picked up only two or three local channels. Internet site said it was supposed to have many more stations. The lock on the door was also broken. I complained about this first room , and they gave me another room. This time the A.C wall unit was leaking into the carpet, and the carpet was soaking wet. This probably caused the room to smell moldy. I told the hotel manager about this and he had said someone was going to come in and vacuum the rug to get rid of the water, He also said he would do something to get rid of mold smell. When I got back from being out all day, the room still smelled like mold, and the rug was still wet. The hotel manager waited till the last day to tell me that he would refund me for the last couple of nights, if I left the hotel at that point to go find another hotel to stay at that night. It was already late into the evening at that point. . He could of contacted me earlier during the day to offer me my money back; he did have my cell phone number.I would never stay at this hotel again. I feel I was totally misled about this property. They definitely need new management, or the motel is going to have to close eventually.

Sea World Weekend
I was very satisfied with our stay at Days Inn Universal Maingate. The room was spacious, everything was clean for the most part and we slept very well. One thing I would like changed is the fact that although we asked for a non-smoking room and we got one, it still smelled a little like cigarette smoke. Also, the bathroom had some mold coming through the walls. Other than that, everything was great, especially the pillows, they were VERY comfortable.
