Got this as a 2* 'secret' hotel on Hotwire for $150 after taxes. A park bench in times square should have a higher star rating than this place. Very scary- bullet proof glass surrounding the front desk, a notice that prostitutes were unwelcome (obviously for show). Room was incredibly hot, no way to control the temperature other than opening the window. We were second floor so at least we didn't get murdered. I had one eye open all night anyway. Perusing the TV, you have your Jay Leno, Jimmy Fallon and then inter-racial group porn. Not pay per view, just on a channel. You could hear the lovely sounds of the previously banned alleged prostitutes wafting through the fan in shower, which went unused. Luckily we only were there 6 hours. The front desk called us a 'cab', which turned out to be I assume a relative with some sketchy livery 'licenses' in the prius. Nice enough guy, took about 15 minutes to get there (hindsight I could have flagged down an actual cab in about 1 minute out front) and it was a $40 ride when it should have been about $10-$15 in a cab.

We could not find any place else to stay. The room was fairly clean. The shower pressure was terrible. A lot of road noise. I liked the complimentary coffee, chocolate, mocha, machine and its versatility. We had to pay cash only.

I recent spent 6 nights here over the New Years period and I would say my stay here was satisfactory.Pro's: Close to fast food (McD's, Wendys, Dunkin' Doughnuts, Domino's Pizza), close to transport (E and F line subway about 10 minutes walk away) and not too far from other entertainment (a zoo and cinema). It is also close to JFK airport. The hotel itself was clean, offers free Wi-Fi, and the rooms have nice black-out curtains, are well lit and offer a few commodities like bars of soap and plastic cups. The rooms are also kept very warm which is great because it's easier to lose heat by opening the window than it is to gain it!Con's: Staff are so/so. They're not top class service orientated but if your request is sound they tend to do it without complaining. I had to get our key cards reactivated every day even though I had a 6 night stay booked. The Wi-Fi occasionally stopped working though the staff seem aware of this because whenever I mentioned it to them they restarted the router and it came back up within a few minutes. The air smells heavily of pine which I believe is the air freshener they use. I think they use it to cover the smell of smoke because every room that I saw had an ash tray. it's not unbearable though and a few hours with the window open sorted it out. Perhaps a little expensive for what it is but given that I spent most of my holiday enjoying NY the smaller issue didn't bother me too much. It's a decent room and a nice bed, in a convenient location. 3/5. :)

$99 for single room-so is $125 with"all"feesnot worthed for this money! believe me!! If you check-in too early you have to pay extra $$$/hourNo refunds for cancellations!?!No breakfast, no coffee/tea maker, no hair dryer, chi old towels, smells like floor cleaner everywhere, no little shampoos lotions soaps,someones hairs in bathroomwall cellings are cracked and stained...wtf?!?!porno movies all day in cable tv,tv has 30 chanells...ghetto neighborhoodbad no competent front serviceno terms & conditidions policy when I asked?!?dont go there!!! for the same money you can find a better hotel!!!
