One night stay btn christmas and new year.Bit tricky to find due to all the one way roads but if you find the enormous decathlon then its next door!!! Easy problem free check in,lovely receptionist.nice little restaurant next door.Rooms.... We were allocated 4th floor,think this was a smoking floor.... rooms smelt of tobacco but as we needed two rooms together had to stay put. Rooms modern and clean and great buffet breakfast although breakfast room was quite full at 9.30. Need more tables!!!

The hotel is a cross between an Ibis and a Premmier Inn, it is a budget hotel but we couldn't find fault with it.We stayed at the hotel for the Barcelona MotoGP weekend. Whilst its not exactly on the doorstep of the circuit, its a good enough location so long as you're not expecting party city at night although there are a variety of bars and restaurants in walking distance but they do close around 11pm.Allow at least 1 hours travel time from the hotel to the circuit at Montmello. Train station is a 10 minute walk from the hotel and the trains are regular.The hotel is located in a residential part of Mollet and most of the patrons are spanish (its definately not a tourist hot spot) however the staff in the hotel spoke very good english and couldn't do enough. Hotel and rooms were clean and tidy with towels changed daily, there a no drawers (for your smalls) and only one little wardrobe - top tip: take some hangers with you.Breakfast was continental with lots of choice. Free tea, coffee, hotel chocolate and juices from a machine in reception, available 24 hours a day.The rooms on the top floor (4th) permit smoking.

Perfectly decent budget hotel close to two autopistas giving access to the Costa Brava or to Barcelona Airport in about 30 minutes by car. Clean, basically furnished and decorated rooms. No significant road noise with the windows closed, though we had trouble cooling the room with a rather feeble air cinditioner. Matrimonial beds are rather small - a twin might be a better bet. The area is uninspiring, but the station is only a 10-15 minute walk away with trains to Barcelona taking less than 30 minutes. Its OK for a quick day trip into the city, but the timing of the last trains makes it unsuitable for going out at night (even just for a meal) in the city, and you really need to allow at least 1 hour door to door to anywhere in the City other than Passage de Gracia.Breakfast is a little uninspiring - everything long life and plastic sealed. The fast food joint right next door might be a more appetising bet.

Having read Iain's review we decided to stay in this hotel. Hotel was spotlessly clean, bed linen and towels changed daily, always hot water. The train station is approx 15 minute walk to the hotel. Turn right as you come out of the station and keep walking as far as you can until you come to the hotel. I was a little worried about staying 30 minutes train journey outside Barcelona centre but it was the right decision as we got to sample local towns which we would not have seen had we stayed in the city centre. The Renfe train ran every 30 minutes and was clean and air conditioned. We purchased the T10 travel ticket for 16.50 euros which covered 10 journeys which was a great saving than paying seperately for each trip. The hotel is in Mollet San Fost which is classed as a city itself with many bars, cafes, shops and places of interest. We ventured to Granollers Centre which had much more to offer. Take a Spanish Phrase book as many of the locals did not speak English and trying to interpret some of the menus was challenging. It was recommended that we take the bus trip around Barcelona centre which cost 23 euro for one day per person or 30 euros for two consecutive days. The city is stunning and so spread out so it was a great way to see all the sights and you can get on and off at different places of your choice/interest. Enjoy your stay.

having spent so much time in the hotel i will keep it basic.rule one. for the money you pay it is fantastic but you will need to eat out but there are plenty of places really close by and it can be really cheap. my tip is bar tenation a family run bar with food for around 4 euros and san miguel for 1 euro.the hotel is very clean and i would like to say thankyou to the house keeper who cleaned my room with attention on the fourth floor, a jolly blond lady who greeted us with a smile each morning.if you need a smoking room it is only permited in certain rooms on the fourth floor and if you do not like the smell of smokes it is not noticable any where in the hotel.the reception staff who also man the continental breakfast in the morning are very helpfull and speak very good english and from what i saw french too and possibly german.i would also like to say thankyou to the reception staff especially the guy who checked me in and found me a transfer to rues airport as he translated for me on the phone.the continental breakfast was good value and had a decent choice of food and beverages.there is also plenty of free parking at the hotel.if you are worried about the location of the hotel as i have seen previous comments dont be, it takes 30 minuits from the hotel door to barcelona passage de gracia and sants on the R2 line which also goes directly from the airport. "look for trains heading to sant celoni,granollers and massenet from barcelona. they also run every 30 minuits in both directions and mollet del valles is served by the station "mollet st fost" 800 meters from the hotel.if you need to go to the beach i suggest montgat nord which is a connection at barcelona el clot arago using the R2 line to get there and then jump on the R1 line north. this takes 50 minuits from the hotel to the beach.the only negative things i encountered was sometimes the breakfast runs low and you have to wait a few minuits for them to top it up which is reasonable as sometimes everyone comes at once and they also have people checking in/out. but the staff are helpfull and apologetic. and once there was a miscomunication with towels but the manager apologised in person. over all for a month and only two minor things to complain about i would highly recommend this hotel for those who would rather use holiday money paying for the over priced gaudi monuments than hotels.thankyou to all the hotel staff for making my stay comfortable home away from home.iain thomlinson.
