Typical, but good airport hotel
The Cumulus Hotel is just a few minutes by car from the Airport. Arriving at the airport, we did not really know where to find the shuttle bus, so we took a taxi (5 min taxi ride that cost us 15 Euros!). The hotel was in a more or less modern style and generally clean. Rooms and bathrooms were clean and functional. No noise disturbance from other hotel guests or the airport. If you want to have a beer in the evening in the hotel lobby, the lady at the frontdesk is in charge for the driks. 1 bottle (0,3l) of beer cost 7,50 Euros. I knew that beer is not the cheapest in northern Europe, but that¿¿s expensive! Breakfast buffet was very extensive and good (eggs, hering, fruit, veggies, cereal, lunch meat, jam, ...and the usual suspects).

Excellent facilities
I was put up here at the last minute by my airline due to flight delay and I must say I had a fantastic experience staying here. My room was very clean and so was the bathroom which was spacious and had good hot water supply. The room had good heating facilities and the wifi signal was good. There was a safe-deposit locker. The breakfast was available from 5.30 AM and was good and substantial. The dinner was also good and had several offerings. A free shuttle ran from the hotel to the airport and vice-versa every 20 mins practically the whole day. On the whole, it was a very pleasant experience and I strongly recommend this hotel for any travellers who wants a hotel close to the airport.

Bare essentials
After needing to stay an additional night in Helsinki due to airline stuff up, I was put up at this hotel. The room I was given I thought had had the mini bar stripped out of it, all tea and coffee making facilities removed and just bare essentials, and two small cushion sized pillows. When I asked reception if this was because the airline was paying, I was told that this was not one of their economy rooms, but was actually a standard room and this is what was it was like for standard stays (If this is standard, I would hate to think what the economy room was like). Having the small pillows made the sleep quality absolutely dire as could not get comfortable.Housekeeping needs attention as the room was serviced whilst I was there, and the toilet was not cleaned well and water was slopped around the sink. The redeemer for me was the free wifi.Breakfast was adequate however did not see a staff member once whilst I was eating, also had lunch there, was told that the chicken came with mushroom sauce, and was surprised when it came out dressed in peppercorn sauce, however was not going to send it back as was in a hurry.

Great airport hotel
Great hotel at the airport area. Free shuttle bus every 20 minutes from the airport, and back from hotel. Goes almost 24 hours a day. Good and nice rooms, with good bed including "pillow menu". You can choose between three different pillows, something I appreciated much since I normally feel the pillows are too soft. Wifi for free, gym and sauna included in hotell fee. Big breakfast seved from 4am, so possible to get something also when leaving early. The big mall Jumbo avaiable by 10min walking form the hotel if there is time. A airport hotel to recommend if the airport is needed to be reached easily.

Standard Airport Hotel
When staying at the Helsinki Vantaa Airport, it really doesn't matter in which of the hotels you stay, they all more or less have the same standard and quality, this also goes for the Cumulus Airport Hotel.I arrived allready as 11.00, and the staff found a room for me even though I was very early, which was nice.The rooms are pretty small and all seem to have the same layout, so if you prefer a larger room, you should consider an upgrade or a different hotel.As everything else in this hotel also the bed was pretty standard, which goes for everything in the room, and the minibar was empty, but you can easily drink the tap water - it's probably even better tasting then bottled water.Breakfast, surprisingly also very much standard, but the restaurant isn't the biggest for a hotel of this size, so if you can, and want to have a quiet breakfast on your own, try and awoid the rushour between 7.00 - 8.00.There is a very convenient shuttlebus to and from the airport every 20 minutes, it's free of charge and easy to use.
