Paying for storage for your luggage when you stay in the hotel !!!
Business colleague and I arrived 06:00 in New York after a 16.5 hour flight from Johannesburg, South Africa. We arrived at the hotel at 09:00. There were no rooms available which is understandable. We asked if we could leave our luggage in one of the rooms. The answer was a flat NO. We have to pay $12 for the hotel to store our luggage. REALLY ? Could we please take a shower even if the hotel is not made up. NO. We then found out that the cleaning staff only arrives at 12:00 and that we can only get a room at 15:00 We then paid the $12.00 and spend the day in New York. We then waited more than 45 minutes later in the day for transport to pick us up at the hotel airport terminal The manager refused to believe that we waited that long. I have seen another Hilton transport vehicle arriving 3 times in the time that we wait for them to pick us up. Here's the thing, I went back to the hotel earlier than my business partner. We both waited for 45 minutes to an hour for transport to arrive. So it was not an isolated incident.Anybody traveling on a long haul flight arriving early in the morning in New York, STAY AWAY

Awful hotel - worst for many years. Try the Hampton Inn. Much better.
We arrived late at night at jfk. Bus was full so we had to wait. Room keys didn't work and there were no towels. Apparently the same was experienced throughout the hotel. No reason given other than they had a shortage of towels. The room was small and very noisy. A domestic dispute happened next door and the windows were not noise insulated. The freeway kept us awake. The air conditioning was very loud and the radio had an incessant buzz. All this for $300! Shocking.

Hard working pleasant staff, grim food
Ok not a typical stay we were sent here by the airline when our flight was cancelled, so not a great start. Despite being overbooked the staff did their best to get us all in and laid on refreshments for those waiting. They were taking a fair bit of abuse but managed to be pleasant and polite throughout, well done.Room was good and pretty clean though a bit faded, bed good and view of the flightpath spectacular, soundproofing very good.The one downside was the food, I know we were on airline vouchers but there was no excuse for what was rolled out, worse than a school canteen, cheap does not come close to describing this.Not sure of the normal price but if you need a reasonable airport hotel then why not, probably worth it for the staff attitude alone, just avoid the food.

Worst service ina Hilton Hotel ever!
First we had to wait more than one hourfor the shuttle bus from airport even we called a few times. The driver does not help with the lugage and he said that was not his job. When going back to the airport he ask to move the lugage to another area and again declined to help. The food was crap! Limited menu and bad and slow service.

Can't get a better bargain at JFK airport. Staff were friendly courteous and efficient. The shuttle to the the airport was on time. When we returned from our trip, we called the hotel and the shuttle was there in 5 minutes to pick us up.
