Great location, good value
This hotel has an ideal location in the middle of old town. My room was a decent size, clean, and had a nice view from the window (my room faced Lai St.) Breakfast was good and staff were helpful. If you are a light sleeper, you may want a room facing the courtyard as the late night drunks can be tedious (and it's embarrassing how often they speak English - I'm getting nostalgic for the days when white trash stayed home). One small quibble was the lack of fitted sheets. I'm a fidget when I sleep and a flat sheet comes loose in no time. Other than that, a very good stay.

Good value great position
We stayed in a budget room for four nights in April it was clean and the bunk beds were comfortable, nice en suite shower room but no storage area for clothing. The hotel which is perfectly positioned for the old town and all attractions looks newly refurbished and has a nice cozy style, staff were polite and the area was quiet. The buffet style breakfast in the cellar dining area was excellent with something for everyone and always kept topped up.This hotel would benefit from a lounge area where you could buy a drink and relax somewhere other than your room, there is a french style cafe attached but this is not very cozy and not open in the evenings, its maybe different in the summer when you can sit outside. There are lots of local restaurant in the close vicinity mostly very expensive ! however we found good meals at reasonable prices at Porgu's, a pub style underground bar which is close by also Sovhabaar which is literally at the end of the road, the African kitchen in UUS street looks like a dump outside but good atmosphere and good food inside, staff were very pleasant.Shopping in Talin was not a very pleasant experience most of the shops in the old town are souvenir shops all selling the same rubbish which is to be expected what was not expected was the rudeness and poor attitude towards tourists, in fact in general we found shop owners to be very unfriendly. Most antique shops seem to be run by scary looking men who glare at you if you dare to enter, a special mention to the antique shop in Lai street for new levels of rudness and hostility to customers, I had my hand grabbed by the owner for pointing at something even though I was perfectly polite and looking round with my wife, avoid at all costs most items I saw were reproduction anyway.All in all Talin is a very interesting old Gothic town with lots of nice architecture, cobbled streets and interesting buildings, however I would suggest that summer would be the best time to visit as its a walking and looking town and most attractions are outside, we think two days and you've seen most things. The indigenous population still have a lot to learn about people skills and interaction with visitors, we found the younger people working in the bars and restaurants to be much better than the older generation.

Fantastic location.
Fantastic location for the old town. Room was clean, warm and fine for it's use. We did not expect luxury and this turned out to be very good value. Staff polite and helpful and spoke excellent English. Quiet hotel and good breakfast with alot of choice. Pleasant cafe. I would definitely stay agian.

Perfect location, will return.
We were definitely well impressed with this place! The location is absolutely perfect, our room was cozy and the bed very comfy, hot shower with good water pressure, and really good breakfast in what I called the "breakfast dungeon"-kinda dark underground stone room. Traveling in the low season was fantastic because we were the only ones there every morning! The staff was very friendly and helpful as well, there were no problems at all getting a late check out (seemed very laid back about it unlike some other places!), was only 5 euros for every extra hour we wanted to stay. If we are lucky enough to visit Tallinn again then we will stay here again.

Cozy place, but stinking bathroom
Perfect location in old town. A small and cozy hotel. Lobby and halls were clean. Our room (301) was small and nice but, in a way, a bit dirty. The bathroom had a disgusting smell! Maybe we were just unlucky. Also the sheets didn't match the mattress, I woke up sleeping directly on the bed. All inn all, a nice hotel that has a lot of potential!
